I had surgery July 11 and I have lost 33 lbs. I know that I'm not drinking enough water but I'm not eating that much. I see that some of you had the surgery around the same time and have lost 40+ lbs so far and here I sit. I'm afraid that I'm failing at this too and this was my last resort. HELP ME!!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?????

Tammy You are doing fine. I am a slow loser, too (think the synthroid has something to do with it). Just be patient and keep getting in your protein requirements and liquids. I went to your profile and it doesn't say what weight you started at, but everyone loses at their own rate, often the heavier you start, the faster you lose. You say that you are feeling better and have more energy with the kids, are walking and clothes are looser-those are very important things. The weight will come off-I will tell myself that also, as I gained 2 pounds this week (think I let my protein intake slip as I quit writing down everything not that I am on regular food). Keep up the good work. It WILL happen. Luci

I started at 283 and now I'm at 250. Pants were size 26-28 and now I'm in 24.

Hi Tami, I had surgery on July 12th and I have only lost 38lbs. I feel am losing slower than some as well. I just keep telling myself I am losing and maybe if I loose slow then my skin will not hang so much. I have also read many profiles and many of the people that have lost as slow as us still make their goals and most are at the 100lb loss at a year so keep your chn up or chins in my case it will happen. I had my surgery 2 days after you. As of last Sunday, (I only weigh once a week) I had only lost 25 pounds since surgery. Luckily I lost 20 before surgery on a 2 week liquid diet. You're doing great, you started lower than most. I started at 260 (pre surgery, 240 day of) and am now at 215. Out loss will be slow because we don't have to lose as much. Believe it or not, you have lost a larger percentage of your body weight than someone who has lost 40-50 pounds in two months. I've lost 10% of my body weight in 8 weeks, I can handle that. They also say that if you lose slower, the risk of losing hair reduces a great deal. Hang in there we'll get there.

Tammy, you have the same post I wanted to address today, I had my surgery on 7/6 and only down about 39 pounds and last month I only lost 9 pounds and the nurse was wondering why too, I know I always had problems losing weight, but I also feel it isn't working. I am really getting worried, hopefully all of a sudden the weight will just drop. Hugs, Martha

I get upset 2..but we gatta keep going.. and realize that it will come off..some faster then others..but the point is its off.. I..like u am a 24 now..we just need to look at ourselves not as the person that needs to lose X amount of weight but as a person who has lost X amount of weight..keep up the good work.. and it will all pay off. Tammy, I know how you feel. I had surgery july 20 and am down 29 pounds. Any other time I would be thrilled, and I am happy, but when you see others losing 40 and 50 pounds it makes ours seem trivial. But, it is not! It is just taking us longer. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone who stops losing at 30 or 40 pounds and I don't think we will start a trend. We have just got to hang in there and keep trying. Pam W

Seem slike days go by and the scale( enemy) stalls... then BAMMMM it moves a little,,, HAng in there- it took a long time to gain weight... Better to loose slow.. I am going to increase my excercise -I feel better and move better.
