Sue,
I'm in the same boat as you - can eat most anything with no problems. My doctor stresses eating protein first and then a little carb. I find that I'm almost never hungry for meat so I try to get my protein from cheese, low carb milk, and peanut butter. I often find myself eating crackers because they're so easy to chew and digest. How's your weight loss going? Mine is fine and I've added water aerobics to the mix. Try to find the time to talk with the dietician who did you pre-op evaluation - may he/she can help.

Hiya,
Sugar we definitely have to stay away from. But if you could eat cookies then maybe sugar isn't a problem for you. I asked my nutritionist if I had to watch my calories and she said no. Right now I need to focus on getting all my protein. So go for the protein first everything else is a bonus.
The one thing I try to do is eat things that are "healthy", although I must admit, I have had a McDonalds cheeseburger a couple of times. Can't eat the whole thing .. maybe three bites and I'm full but just the taste of it makes me happy Anywhoo .. don't worry, all of us have are lapses .. but we do have to get back on track. Either way .. I try to have fruit with all my meals. I'll have a turkey burger (no bun) and a side order of fruit. Breakfast I'll have yogurt and a side of fruit. The only meal I'm not having fruit with is dinner and only because I don't really have any at home.
I've also tried Luna bars .. those taste like dessert but have 10g of protein in them so it helps if you want a snack.
Anyway .. hope that helps.
