Hi several of you have asked me what a micropouch is well I live in Michigan and we have a group of doctors that actually invented it several years ago it is a tiny version of the rny pouch and it is made at the very top of the stomache where there is no elasticity to strech there has never been a revision and over 5,000 have been done that was what I wanted no streching otherwise every part of the rny is the same just much smaller pouch....Good Luck everybody!!! tinier pouch? they said mine was the size of the very tip of a thumb. and aren't they all at the very top of the stomach/bottom of the esophagus? I don't get it.

My op report said mine was 20CC, how big is a micropouch? I understand mine won't stretch a whole lot either because it is also from the top of the stomach that doesn't stretch much, personaly, I want mine to stretch just a little, I want to be able to eat enough to be healthy. Teresa

i did some research on this last night. apparently the pouch is made in the same place but they did some nice marketing. The only difference is the size they claim their pouch is but i'm not finding any evidence that it has any benefits other than making you belch more.

Wow Jay I have no idea where you did your research but you are really way off base...You seem to be very bitter or something I mean to each their own it was just my decision to go with what I felt was the best choice out there for me....Thanks for your opinions but you are really misinformed... i just did some reading up last night and talked about what i found. i'm not bitter or misinformed and i refuse to get sucked into a game of name calling.

Mine is the size of a grape...and made higher then most is all just a newer procedure that many docs are using now I am sure... same concept but uses surgical glue and less staples..That's it... have a great day!!! Jess

It is called the Sapala-Wood Micropouch® and it is higher and it is smaller than the typical Roux-en-Y. I did research it but was afraid I would not be able to take in enough nutrients. Here is a link if anyone wants to check it out. Sue 273/261/218/150 http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/m-surgerytypes.phtml
