Hurricane and cravings
Well, This is just nuts. I haven't had any real food issues since my surgery - as far as cravings and stuff - but NOW.... I just want to eat and eat and eat. It's driving me crazy! The strange thing is that I can eat potato chips, granted, it's only a few, but I can still eat them and they don't bother me -- but give me real food and I have to nibble it down. This could be a bad thing right now as us, our friends and families are going through such a stressful time.
Luckily, I live in the Jackson area, where there are still alot of people without power, but I'm lucky, I have gotten mine back. We have a terrible gas shortage, so my husband has been home ALL WEEK! GRRR They say it's getting better soon, so I'm crossing my fingers.
My husband is in dental sales, and most of his upcoming sales were on the coast - and with the price of gas now - well, it's just going to be a rough ride on that front too.
BUT I am counting my blessings - I've heard from most of my friends in the devastated areas and they are fine. Still waiting on one of my best friends, but I have faith that she got the heck outta there.
Our church is assisting the church next door that is a shelter - most of these people are from the New Orleans area, and some of them were air rescued etc. It's amazing to hear their stories.
Anyway - just had to get on here and chat a bit instead of opening up the Pringles.
HUGS!
Kimberly
Hi Kimberly,
We had our surgery the same day.
Just wondering- have you tried the Pringles Fat Free sour cream and onion chips? They are REALLY GOOD! I take a serving (I think there are 10 to a serving) out of the container and put the container away. That satisfies the urge to snack on chips. I have also found that in the last couple of days I want to eat more. Perhaps it's a sign of things to come as you know we won't always be "not hungry"? I don't know. I really try to limit any snacking.
Maybe you could reach for some water first instead of a snack?
I can't imagine what it would be like to be living in your area. The tragedy just breaks my heart.

Hi Kimberly,
I'm so sorry for all those people affected by the hurricane. Thank god there are people like you who care and help. I'll keep you in my prayers ok I know the gas prices are so high and your husband being a traveling man are unfortunatly heading for some hard times. Keep praying as you know God works in mysteries ways and I'm sure he'll look out for you.
As far as the eating goes I am eating my butt of too. I can eat all kinds of fruit and salad but like you when it comes to a real meal it isn't happening. I don't know why either. If for some reason you talk to your Dr. about it let me know. OK? try to stay away from the junk food though, that's something I won't even try cause I'm afraid I'll be able to hold them down and like them again. Even the low fat ones.
