Energy
Hey all-
I am now almost 6 weeks out. I have been feeling pretty good energy wise the last couple of weeks. But Suddenly I am totally drained.
I am going to mention this to my Dr. on Tuesday. (I have a 6 week check up then) But I am wondering if anyone else has had this?
I went back to work this week. I am a teacher but no kids this week. I was physically up and around but not more than usual. I did a lot of writting stuff and cutting while sitting too.
My body physically feels like I have run a marathon. It seems to happen around mid afternoon. This probably started on Tuesday this week.
And it happened today too even though I am off. I really don't think this is because of work. But I can't figure out what is going on.
I am really worried because the kids come this week and I don't know how I am going to be able to keep up!
Anyone else have a sudden onset of low energy?
Hi Linda,
First of all are you drinking alot of fluids? Are you taking in your daily requirments of protien? Those things are very important in your recovery. Also, did you start your vitamin B-shot?. You have to remeber that you had a major surgery and it takes a bit longer for some people to recover than others.. Try to take it easy before the kids do get back to school but check on those things I suggested>OK Good luck.

The exact thing happened to me. (I am a teacher also). What I did was "up" my protein and it worked like magic. My doctor says that protein is the key although he doesn't understand why. It just makes a BIG difference in our energy level. I wish you luck!! I keep cheese and peanut butter crackers at school for a "pick me up" when I need it. My energy leve is pretty much back to normal for me. I am two weeks ahead of you with a surgery date of 7/11.

When I got like that, it was time for my B-12 shot and after I got it, I felt great again... havent had anymore problems... And I stay busy all day long, I work at a daycare for about 9 hrs running 9 kids, then I have classes at night until 9, then I come home to my own kids, hubby and house and try to atleast walk on my treadmill a mile or two....
My doctor has not suggested any b-12, but I do sublingual everyday on my own. How bypassed were you guys? Maybe my doctor didn't bypass me enough to need the shots? ya think? Or maybe I should see if my pcp will prescribe them. I am proximal...75 cm, I think, If I am reading my op report correctly. I have been tired also, but this was after an episode of extreme nausea where I could not eat or drink for about 3 days this past week, maybe I just have a lot of catching up to do...I have still been doing 3 flintstones a day along with calcium, beta caratine, biotin. My surgery was 7/29/05 open rny (still hurting with "pulled muscles" in my inscision area)! Anybody have better vitiamin suggestions?
