Hey there,I had LapBand s...
Wow,I was so glad to hear from you! I can't believe you had yours the same day, that's so great. We can really compare notes on our progress.I weighed in at 300 lbs the day of surgery, how about you? I had lost 20 lbs in the weeks before surgery on my pre-op diet. I now weigh 285 lbs and got my first fill of 4.8 cc just two days ago. My incision was slow healing where the port was placed so I had to wait 8 weeks. I had no co-morbities prior to surgery but knew it was only a matter of time and I was feeling miserable at my weight. I am 35,married and have three girls ages 17,11 and 3,so I need my energy!
I had a very hard time with my fill.I was nervous and the technician made the mistake of gasping "oh oh!" when he attempted and missed the port with the surenge.I went stone cold all over and sweat pored off of me at the same time and I started to pass out. They put cold cloths on me and tilted be into a slightly reclined postion so I wouldn't hit the floor.I was given 4.8 cc but I am worried it wasn't enough,I still seem to be able to hold too much I think.I might just be parinoid,I don't know. This morning I had a package of oatmeal and ate it all,at lunch I had half a bowl of cottage cheese and neither made me feel full.I had an egg, mushroom and cheese omlette for supper and I'm full but it was also a good size.I used Egg Beater liquid egg so I can't say how many eggs.Does this sound right to you?
Please tell me all about yourself. I hope we can be great help to each other. Thanks so much for your responce,I was feeling a little alone in this!
Corinne,
I was 257 the morning of surgery. I was weighed on my 6 week check up as 212. I don't weigh in between doctors appt's.
I am single and have no children. I know what you mean about energy, I had none and no am getting it back ten-fold!
Today I went to the gym I did 2 (1hour) water aerobics classes, 200 crunches, 1 mile on the outside track, and 1 mile on the treadmill. I had a protein bar on the way to the gym. I drank 4 16.9oz bottles of water at the gym and on the way home. I then had chicken stirfry (no rice) approx 3 oz of chicken and the same of veggies. I just had a s/f jello pudding.
I will be having 2 oz of salmon, 5 pieces of yellow squash, and a 1/4 cup of edamame for my next meal (I am looking forward to it, can you tell?).
As soon as my hour is up I will have more water and then my next meal.
I have 5cc's in my band and had restriction with pbing the first week. I am now good to go and ready for my next fill!
I am not really hungry although, I miss my best friend food (mainly fast food). I am ok and have replaced fast food with exercise this is my fifth week back at the gym and healthy living/eating!
It is great to meet a fellow lap bander surgery sister.
oh and BTW I am 39 eeck that is painful to say
Love hearing from you,
Lynn

Thanks for listening to my rambling. How many weeks out of surgery were you when you had your first fill and how many cc's did you have put in then? I am starting to workout at Curves after this long weekend holiday here. I was really sore for quite some time after surgery and my incision was very slow healing for some odd reason.
