Stricture - home from ER

Hi All, I was on a business trip this week and two of the four days (Monday and Thursday) I couldn't keep down my protein drink or water down for the better part of the day. Of course the other two days I was fine, so I wan't sure if it was stress or an actual problem. Talked to the surgeon on the way home and he wanted me to take a cab from the airport to the Hospital because he was worried about dehydration and kidney failure. I finally talked him into going home first so my DBF could take me and I could drop off my suitcase. I spent the night in the ER being hydrated and trying to sleep. Long story short, I had an endoscopy this morning and they found a partial stricture which they fixed with dilation. Back to liquids for a few days so that everything can heal. For anybody worried about having to have an endoscopy, I don't remember a thing. They gave me some good drugs and when I woke up it was all over. I have a little bit of a sore throat, but that's it. Glad to hear your feeling better What a relief to know that the endoscopy is no big deal. I was so worried that if i got a stricture i would be gagging. I am SUCH a nervous Nellie. BTW....what does the "D" in DBF stand for? ive been driving my self crazy for a month trying to figure it out. LOL! Tiffany

I am so glad you are OK and that the endo wasn't so bad....hang in there! Sounds like you have a great surgeon.

I had and endoscopy done also and I am so happy because everything is better again. So I know how you feel :P I had my surgery on the 7th of July and the endoscopy on the 28th. Glad to hear you are ok.

We had our surgry on the same day and I had an endo/dilation done on August 15th. I, too, had to go to emergency and was in the hospital for 4 days. I got nervous for nothing - it went very smoothly! Darla
