Not a wow moment
Hi Joyce,
I too am losing slow and had a week of no loss at all. I know I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do and I'm sure you are to. So keep your chin up it'll come off sooner or later. TRUST ME!! At least that's what the doc told me 40 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at. I know alot of people who wished they would lose 20 lbs. We had surgery the same day too. I've lost 55 lbs. so far but it's slowing down right now. Alot of peple have the advantage of excersizing but as soon as they were able to but I have a severe back disorder and it's kept me from doing that until now. I just started to walk for my excersize. I hope that'll help me lose alot quicker. Do you excersize at all?
Good luck.

These little stalls are normal. Just your body catching up.... you've probably lost inches during this time. My 3rd week post op I didn't lose anything, but since then I've lost about 2lbs a day.
This is normal so don't sweat it. Just keep doing what you should be doing and you'll be losing again soon.

I know how you feel. I was weighing myself everyday and it got to the point that I almost had to laugh. One day I gained 5 lbs. Imagine that when I only eat like 250 calories a day and excercise too. Than it gradually came off. Everyone's body reacts differently to weight loss. Sometimes your body just does not want to loose because it is in starvation mode or its retaining water. There is nothing you can do about it except like everyone says stick to the plan. It works as you know from reading all these posts on this wonderful site. Besides when was the last time you lost 40 lbs in 6 weeks. I know I never have.
For now I weigh myself once a week , it is much more satisfying. And if I do not loose well I have to say at least I did not gain. If I gain a pound which I also tend to do when I have my time of the month or for whatever reason my body is holding on to the weight, today I kinda grin at it because its just the way it is. You couldnt over eat if you wanted to unles you feel like throwing up all day (yuk)
Good luck and keep up to good work. It does come off
hugs from Houston

Joyce, someone on my PA board wrote..."So don't sweat the scale short term. Long term we will all be fine." This is my new motto. I have only lost maybe 30 pounds tops. SLow but sure wins the race. I am feeling better. My clothes have gone down a size and people are starting to notice. I am doing everything right. It has no where to go but off!

Hear hear Jacquee! I agree! I do get discouraged at times, but there is NO WAY that with the few calories I eat, even if I didn't exercise (which I do) I wouldn't lose weight. It's math!
I'm 6 weeks out and have lost about 23 pounds. My clothes haven't quite gotten "too" big yet, but they are getting loose. I keep chanting "Slow and steady wins the race". Also, if you don't have as much to lose as others, it will come off slower.
