Anyone else trouble with energy?
I have less energy now than I did the week after my surgery. I'm eating lots of protein; eggs, cheese, chicken. Getting most of my water everyday; 55-68 oz./day. Yet I don't seem to have any energy, it has been a struggle at work and when I'm home it seems like all I want to do is take a nap, but I can't because I need to stay awake to drink water. Argh...this is frustrating, at least when I was 60# heavier I had more energy.
Have you asked your surgeon about this? Does your surgeon have you taking vitamins, and are you taking them. I have been feeling pretty good. This past Friday I was exhausted all day. I made myself do what I had to, but it wasn't easy. I just changed vitamins (a requirement 1 month out), and I think that may have had something to do with it. If you are not getting enough B-12, this can cause a lack of energy.
I think you should ask your doctor about it. That's always the best place to get an answer.

P.S. I helped my husband cut the grass today, and it was much easier since I am now 35 lbs. lighter.

Peter, I agree. I am down 34 lbs. as of this morning and I am with out energy. I am so tired its not funny. I don't know how to fix it. I am taking vitamens and protein and its not helping. I take a shower and I am done for quite a while. I feel bad for my Husband. I just can't do everything yet. My house is a mess and I have not cooked a dinner in a month. I don't even wake up with that much energy to begin with. Work sucks. I sit most of the time now. If you find something that works please share with me.
Thanks!!

Everybody tells me 6 - 8 weeks until energy will pick back up. I started back to work last week and even at half a day I'm beat. I have a desk job and after 2-3 hours I can't concentrate. When I commented to my surgeon 2 weeks ago, he said that "Well you did have a major surgery 4 weeks ago" at which I wanted to say, "Fat lot of good that response is" but didn't of course. So keep the protien up, water up, and listen to your body and rest. My surgeon is big on the listen to the body deal so I go ahead and nap and don't worry to much about it.

I increased my vitamins to 4 tablets a day. I went through a couple days where I was exhausted... I took some B-6 and B - Complex chewables and an iron in addition to my OPTISOURCE VITAMINS. Someone said take vitamins with food to absorb them. SO I take a vitamin after meals.. Seeing it should sit there with them a while in the pouch. I try not to drink with/ or right after so the malabsorption does not occur when food passes to the large intesting. It seems to have helped. ALso Walking increased my energy. Hope this helps..
