Feeling icky
Is anyone else getting frustrated out there with the trial and error stage of eating? I had a turkey meatball- no problem. I make some turkey meatloaf and I feel sick to my stomach for two hours and then it comes back up.
I am getting frustrated because I am back at work and I can't just dissappear and say- sorry- I feel sick to my stomach in the middle of a meeting. So I am eating yogurt and cottage cheese meal after meal while at work. And I am getting sick of it.
The difference is so vast in what doctors let you eat at what times post op. I am 7 weeks post op and on soft foods only. I dont introduce seafood for another week. And have no clue when I will introduce meat.
But Cheri is right, whatever you can tolerate at home, take it to work, that is what I do. So far cottage cheese & crackers, peanut butter & crackers / soup / yogurt / dried beans... And I eat so little before I am full that I have had no problems with hunger at all.
When I scoop up my half cup of beans that I have cooked from dried beans, before I smush them, I add one scoop of unflavored protein powder and they are good. (Psst, also sneaked in a squirt of hot sauce,,, shhhh don't tell anyone)
I have been very lucky so far in that I have not thrown up any and all food has been tolerated well.

I'm seven weeks post op and I'm eating pretty much anything I want and can tolerate. I'm not eating salads or raw vegetables yet, or beef, but so far I've tolerated pretty much everything as long as I take it slow, remember to chew, and don't eat too much. I too have a problem with what to take for lunches though, seems to be one of my biggest issues.
