Cannot take credit for this one: Tried it and makes great snacks. Drain can of chick peas/garbanzo beans. Season with favorite seasoning- I like Molly Mcbutter and garlic, cajun( very little cajun). Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes make a lovely crunchy protein snack. That with my strawberry yogurt dumped in a blender with a scoop of Vanilla Whey protein powder a little skim milk and a few ice cubes... Great for getting in extra protein...

Hey, those sound like good ideas. What type of strawberry yogurt do you use? I can't find one's with low enough sugar at my regular store. Also, what do you put the beans in to for the oven (a cookie sheet?)? I am guessing they are going to be crunchy and dry in the end...is that right? Thanks, Linda

Linda My hospital guidebook recommends Dannon Lite & Fit or Blue Bunny. Keep in mind that the sugar listed contains the milk sugar (lactose) which is usually well tolerated unless you can't take milkand fruit sugar(fructose) if fruit flavored. Their guidelines were to check the ingredients to see what sugars are listed-corn syrup, etc and they need to be at least 4th on the list. My 6 oz Strawberry Lite & Fit has 12 grams of sugar listed, but is made with aspartame. I freaked out the first time I looked at these 2 brands-I didn't even think about the milk sugars, etc. Have had no problem. I can't remember, but I think Meijer brand is also made with aspartame/splends or something. Luci
