Attack of the Flu!?!

Hello July Friends, Has anyone found themselves grounded with a cold and/or (in my case) the flu not too long after surgery? I am wondering if this is due to my immune system being lowered post-op. I cannot remember the last time I had the flu. Fortunately it is not of the stomach variety. Mostly I have one heck of a sore throat, fever, aches and pains, and oddly enough an ear infection. Thank God, I am still on leave from work! ~Julie

Hi Julie, I've not had the flu but my allergies are going crazy, I had a period for the first time in a year and a half and I generally feel like crap. I too am not working thank god! It will be three weeks tomorrow for my surgery and I wonder when things get better. I think our bodies have gone through such a big change, everything is haywire! Hope you feel better, I'm sure things will look up for both of us. Jo

Funny that you mention having a period for the first time in a year and a half. I have an IUD and therefore do not have periods. I began having one when I got home from the hospital. When I spoke with the nurse at my surgeon's office she said that estrogen is stored in fat cells so when you drop weight really fast you drop estrogen and it makes you have a period. My allergies have also gone CRAZY!! Shellie
