What did you eat today?
Im not sure i am eating right. I may be getting too much so I was hoping some of you July folks would let me know what you eat in a typical day from morning first up until bed. Thanks ! Pam
Breakfast:4 oz yogurt
crumbled bacon
Lunch smushed beans with a little potato salad
Snack 3oz cottage cheese 2% with sliced peaches
Dinner 4 small cheese ravioli smushed up with spaghetti sauce
Snack one south beach protein bar

I had surgery on 7/8-
Breakfast: 1 South Beach Meal Replacement Bar 19 grs. protein
Lunch 2 ozs Turkey and 1 slice Swiss Cheese (from the inside of a sandwich- 14 grm protein (turkey) 7 grm protein (cheese)= 21 total
Snack- 1 16 oz Enlightened Smoothie Berry Fulfilling (Jamba Juice)
7 grms protein (plus 2 extra protein boosts) 14 grams= 21 total protein
Dinner- Beef Wonton Soup= 8 grms protein
approx 800 cals and 69 grams of protein

i'm strange- because on day i eat hardy anything and the next- i can eat all 3 meals- i don't snack at all- and at each meal- no more than 1/2 cup total.
breakfast- 1 scrambled egg with cheese on top melting on top, 1/2 slice of low carb toast (with a little butter and sf jelly)
lunch- crab (left over from last night- joe's crab shack**), 4 baby carrots (microwaved)
supper- tried for the first time a protein bar that had 21 grams of protein, 1 sugar gram, and 4 sat fat grams- what was the brand- not sure- it's in the garbage outside now- but it was something chocolate- it's wasn't bad- but wasn't GOOD either. (but dh and son had pizza- grrrr- I had one bite of the pizza- tasted too good- so i had to stop)
I can eat so far- everything- breads, sugar- you name it- so i'm doing everything willpower that's for sure...
**joe's crab shack** last night- i was so mad- (mostly at myself) i decided on 1 pound of crab (can't do a 1/2 pound i guess as a meal) i ordered the mashed potatoes- not knowing the peel was mixed in with it- didn't want to chance it- and then veggies- broccoli and baby carrots- ok- i ASKED her if they were soft- she said yes- but they weren't hard hard- (almost raw) so i wanted to measure my crab right- so it took me about 10 mintues to get all themeat out of the legs- SO by the time i could start eating- it was cold- (yuck!! cold) so basically it was about 1/2 cup- (all that work- for 1/2 cup) but brought it home- so i didn't even EAT the supper last night- WHATEVER-

I don't ever know if I am eating right. I am not even sure WHAT to eat right now, so all I have been doing is soups and jello. Yum Yum.
BF-Oatmeal 5 bits with little margarine and splenda
Lunch-1/2 cup cream of mushroom soup
Dinner- 1/4 cup of black bean soup (vomited it all up)
and trying to drink all my H20 can only get like 40 oz in usually.
I usually do a protein drink, but struggling, cuz they are SO freaking nasty!
I am only getting in like 400 calories most days.
But my surgeon says don't count calories!
I am having the same problem with the protein shakes. I know I am not getting enough protein right now but sheesh .. those protein drinks are TERRIBLE. And the pre-made ones that taste ok require you to drink way too much. I don't like milk so it makes it hard.
However, I finally tried Isopure today. I tried the grape frost flavor and it was kinda good. I drank almost 20 ounces of it and it had 40 grams for 20 ounces!!!! It is expensive but well worth it!
I had surgery 7/28 and am aloud to start adding foods now but I find that I put food on my plate (I actually use a saucer) and can only eat a teeny, tiny bit. I am just not hungry.
B - Slept in and didn't eat
L - 3 low fat Ritz crackers with peanut butter and SF jelly. It took me about 4 hours and I only ate 2 of them.
D - Pork chops, pasta salad with parmasean cheese, green beans. I think I ate 2 very small bites of meat, about 4 or 5 pasta shells and about 3 green beans.
Drank the Isopure.

Thanks for the replies. It does help to see what others are eating. Maybe I am eating too much, does it look like it to you guys? I also had a piece of cheddar cheese around bedtime last night that I hadnt added yet.
Im not sure what to do. My weight seems to be sitting at the same thing day in and day out. Im starting to get a little down about it. I've lost about 21 pounds but it has been that for a while.
I guess I could cut back some today and see what happens. I think I am doomed to be overweight.

Hi Pam,
I don't know that you are eating too much, just maybe a few too many carbs. I try to eat the protein 1st with just a few carbs occasionally. Typically I'll have an egg(6g), sometimes w/sl. of cheese(6g) or a half pkg. of instant cream of wheat made with 4oz 1% milk(4g). Then sometime during the morning I'll have a protein supplement that I ordered from bariatriceating.com. I like the choc. mint, or cafe mocha using ho****er. (have to make a paste 1st when doing it this way, then add the rest of the water or it won't mix well) (approx. 10oz liquid, 23g) Lunch is about 2oz of refried beans w/ground beef & 1oz of 75% lite cheddar cheese melted in.(14g) I usually have a snack in the afternoon of either some of what I had for lunch or 2oz of string cheese(12g). Then for the evening maybe 2oz grilled talapia(fish)(14g) w/creole seasoning & I can't believe it's not butter sprayed on it & 1oz steamed yellow squash.
