I've heard that a heightened sense of smell often happens after surgery. For me everything smelled either really really good, or really really bad. The cleanser my husband used on the car tires was awful when I got in and out of the car, the cardboard box pizza my kids baked smelled awesome, the perfume lady at the department store made me want to barf, and Payless shoes - really really stinks. The poor dog got a bath twice in one week (then needed to go to the vet for dry skin rash on his belly). It passed after a few weeks and now only every once in a while does something bother me. Cheers, Lynn

Tasha, I am having a heck of a time with smells - I can't get next to poor hubby because I smell garlic on him! I hope my sense of smell evens out soon - I don't like throwing up so much! Darla

No I called my surgeons office and his nurse said it is the anthesia wearing off that is why it is happening. She said it will probably last 3 weeks or more. I know I can't stand it.
