Hey Tasha, We've got the same surgery date. I sometimes smell things and they make me a little nauseated, but have not had a problem with tasting foods except milk based products. I have lactose intolerance since surgery, but don't have a problem if I take a lataid(or generic form of it) with the first bite or sip. I find getting out in the heat of the day sometimes makes me feel a little nauseous but it may just be my sinuses acting up too. I have had a problem drinking water though. After a few sips my stomach aches & I get chills. It goes away pretty quickly but it is a real pain trying to get in my liquids. It's not as bad as it was though, so maybe it will go away soon. I can chew on crushed ice though & it doesn't bother me. Hope your problem goes away soon.
I am having problems with my water also. So I just chew on ice. I don't think I am lactose intolerant but if I use milk to drink my protein drink I vomit. The heat hasn't been a problem but I barely go out. I don't eat much I feel I should be eating more. Or I am not hungry. I take 2 or 3 bites and I am full. WHat are you eating now??

hey diana, i had tons of problems getting my water in because i would feel just like you said. guess what turned out to be the trick..... i drink the water super cold. i get a cup full of ice and pour my water in the cup (always in a cup no bottles) and the water goes down SOOOO GOOD!!!! i can drink 2 cups full of water in one sitting. if you havent tried that, try it. it sure worked for me. good luck. oh and about the smelling, i can't smell things that are strong in smell or i feel sick too. i hope that goes away. maria
Now I am glad that I am not the only one!! You are not nuts, unless we both are. I don't really have a problem with the smell of food. However, soap, laundry detergent, my kitchen, and the truck. They all smell so bad to me! I can't go in the kitchen. Just the look at certain things get me too. I do believe that it will pass. Well, thats what everyone has told me. I just don't know the time frame. Best wishes to you.

Hi Tasha,
Your not nuts unless we all are and don't know it, who knows right? Anyway I too get a terrible smell especially when I take my vitamins. I actually think the vitamins cause the smell. After I take them and if I cough or sneeze I can smell a terrible odor. It's horrible. I can also smell alot better to since the surgery and if something does'nt smell right I'll be the first one to smell it So your not alone.
Cheri
P.S. All the protien I take in to with the drinks may be causing the smell and taste thing too for me.

hey lyndell, i hadn't seen anyone mention this type of smell problem before but i had it too. i have the same date as you and when i came home, my lil girl whose 21 months, i couldn't smell her cuz it was soooo weird and kinda repelant. i felt terrible, especially when she's always had such a great baby smell. but thank god it went away and that's back to normal. best of luck!!!! maria
