NO WEIGHT LOSS FOR 2 WEEKS
Hi Jodi, I read your profile and I see that you had to lose weight before your surgery. I personally think your doing great! That is a total loss of 39 lbs! I quit comparing myself to others as many have lost more than me. It was really getting to me so now I go with the mindset that we are all different and will lose differently. Best Wishes, Joyce
well I had it on july 22nd. and I have only lost 24 lbs according to docs scales and 19 by mine. I have been loosing inches, but I have not lost a pound for 2 wks now.. I have been stressed as well, but I finally got a hold of one of my friends today who said loosing the inches are far better than the loosing the pounds or right now it is.. according to him. So, I am trying to be happy about it. he said by loosing inches we are loosing fat and if we just loose weight we will get lighter but will be flabbier.. and he is only 5% body fat himself so I think he might know a lil something about what he is saying.. or lets hope so haha.. anyways goodluck.. we both know it has to come off sometime or another.....we will be fine...
Hi Jodi,
I stalled at 20 lbs too. I had lost 20lbs in the first ten days then I did not loose another pound for 17 days, now I have lost 6 more. I had my surgery on July 12. I know I was loosing inches though because I went down a whole oants size even though I was not losiing pounds. It will happen just be patient. They say not to way yourself everyday,But I still do. Good Luck
Tami
I agree that it is probably just a plateau. I know it's frustrating. But it really should end soon.
How much protein are you getting in? Are you walking or doing some other activity? Are you getting the water in? Some say changing stuff up- more or less- protein, walking, water will help end a plateau.
Also, I agree with others about the inches- start measuring yourself occasionally. Then you can actually measure the inches lost during the plateaus...and there will be more.
I feel for you! Hang in there...it will start moving again!

I agree with everyone else. We all loose differently. You can not make your body loose any faster than it is. I only lost 2 lbs at my first weigh in 10 days after surgery. Beleive me I was so upset. I had only broth and water for 10 days. Than I started to loose and than stalled and than lost. I will be 6 weeks post op tomorrow and as of this morning I have lost 26 lbs post op and 24 pre op. I also have not lost anything in the past 2 weekws. Although I feel with the amount of food I am eating which is maybe 200 to 300 calories per day I should be loosing faster but obviously my body just does not loose as fast as others. I am very happy that I am loosing and not gaining which I would be if not for this surgery. So with that in mind, just remember it will come off. You are loosing at your bodies pace. Follow your docs advice and stick to the plan.
Wishing you many shedding pounds.

Hiya Jodi!!!
I had my surgery July 5. I've lost 24 lbs since surgery and I've been on a plateau since July 15 until yesterday. So that was almost a month of losing inches but no pounds. How frustrating!!!! Yesterday, I weighed myself and I lost 5 more lbs.
I know it's frustrating to not see the scale move but don't worry you're doing great and soon you will see the pounds start coming off again.

Well we are in the same boat..I lost a total of 35 post op and now I am stuck along with you...It has been 2 weeks, barely can eat anything but juice, water, and sometimes bread with a little peanut butter but other than that not much of anything else. I was told by a fitness trainer that that is how weightloss happens..You get stuck at a plateau then in a couple weeks you lose again. I have lost maybe a pound in 2 weeks!! I get really mad but then I think this cant last much longer..I excercise regularly and can't eat so I am keepin the faith here!!
