WEIGHT LOSS STALLED?
OK, you guys...
OMG, do I EVER need to change that picture! Ugh! Anyhow, I have been SO upset about the scale not moving, so I called my surgeon's office. Chris, the nurse practioner got on the phone and spoke to me. I told her I have been eating like 600 calories a day (including protein drinks), and that I have been walking 2 miles a day, and have lost nothing in a week. She told me this is completely normal. She also told me to not even count calories right now. She said it is normal to be not satisfied by 2 oz. and that it will come. She also suggested Sylvestor Stallone pudding (available at GNC). They have 20g protein, and are more filling for people who don't like to drink their protein all the time. I can't stand the Gladiator or whatever that smoothie king one is I bought? I can't make it the same as them no matter how hard I try. She also said Isopure tastes a lot better than gladiator.
Get this, yall. She said to not weigh myself until I come into the office. Imagine that! lol I had to promise her. Man! I can't break the promise. She also said not to worry about sodium right now. My mom, mother-in-law, and everyone else has been telling me not to eat can soups cause of the sodium. And being a nurse, everything is so backwards from what I have learned as a healthcare provider.
Bottom line is, if there is anyone else "stuck" like me, dont worry, this is normal! We will get there!

tami when did you have your surgery? and I know that feeling for 2 wks on sunday i will be stuck at the same weight and i am freaking out but I have lost 5 inches around my waist and 4 in my hips and 3 in my legs, so its doing some good and I guess its better to loose inches then weight i am not sure.. but anyways i feel all of you on here.. I think those scales should move even if its 1-2 lbs a week that way I know i am doing something.. But anyways we all need to stop weighing everyday but um THAT IS SO IMPOSSIBLE TO DO haha.. i weigh every morning and sometimes at night that is how bad i am.. i want to make sure i am not gaining any during the day from eating or drinking.. and some days i don't and others i do.. anyways goodluck everyone.. hopefully we will get moving soon,.
Oh thank you so much for that posting. Ive been a little depressed because I eat like a bird and barely am losing anything! I thought I was destined to be a beast forever! I have the Sylvester Stallone puddings. Don't get your hopes up, they dont taste that great. I think they taste like the metal can they come in and they are like $7 for 4 cans, which would be ok if I liked them. I have the chocolate, but maybe the vanilla tastes better? I hate the damn protein shakes myself, so Ive been doing everything in my power to try to eat all my protein so that I dont have to drink it. I tried some kind of clear protein drink and OH MY GOD....GROSSSSSSS. It sucks because you gotta spend all this money and find out the stuff is disgusting!

Only buy one bottle of isopure until you know if you like it. I can't stand it. Too sour for me. People either love it or hate it.
I bought a huge gallon sized protein powder from Costco (Alpine Vanilla) and it is wonderful. Doesn't even smell like all the others plus for only $20 it's 4 times as big as a jug I bought at Fred Meyers for $12 plus it tastes better. I take regular orange juice, add some SF strawberry Torani syrup and protein powder and blend. It tastes just like a creamsicle.
I try eating all my protein too but with our pouches so little it's nearly impossible right now.

I'm glad I am not alone. I broke down crying the other day because I have not lost any weight in awhile. I have been eating canned soup since Wednesday. It doesn't bother me much. I was doing good on my protein but now it won't even stay down. So I have to find me a new protein. I have been having problems with keeping my supper down in the evening also. I have to go see my doctor in 2 weeks so I am going to discuss it with him.
Tasha I think I would call your doctor if you're still having that problem within a couple of days. They should at least be aware that this is happening with you.

As far as the weight loss- I haven't stalled- I have yo'yo'd. I'm not sure which is more disappointing. I got on the scale 5 days ago and wooo hooo'd at 252.5 Then the next day it was back up to 256, then 255.5, and it NEVER has been back to 252.5!!! What the hell is up with that???? I even checked 2 different scales! (no I'm not obsessed) Ok, self talk then goes like this: "Ok, you are failing at this too Michele. Why did you get your insides hacked up and rearranged just to lose 20 pounds????" But then I realize that I HAVE to lose weight with what I am eating. I expend WAY more calories than I take in. It's CHEMISTRY for gods sake, not just wishful thinking anymore.
We really need to be strong and not get on the scale. I won't if you won't. Ha!
