I have been wondering if this is just me or if anyone else has expreienced or is experiencing this. Since my surgery on 7-25-05 I can;t sleep at night. I toss and turn and lie awake.. till like 3-4am then I sleep till 10am or 11 am. and I am tired during the day. I can;t figure it out. I am eating my protien (well sipping and drinking and slurping it) and eating the fluids in. and walking daily like Ia m supposed to. Any thoughts? It is frustrating. Michaele

all i can say is this happened to me too. i would sleep during the day because of my pain killers or the protien would make me feel tired and i'd be up most of the night. i don't know really why but how i started back at work i don't get my afternoon nap so i sleep regular hours now. gosh i miss that nap, lmao!!! good luck, i hope you are getting enough rest though!! maria

Michaele I already posted on the other sleep topic that I am having trouble getting comfortable because I have to sleep on my back still. However, since surgery- I have been falling asleep REALLY early in the evening and then I am up at 4 AM. It's weird...and I am slowly starting to work it back to "normal" hours. I think for me it was partly due to the period of time when I was on pain meds and sleeping / napping a lot. If I were you- I would try forcing myself up a bit earlier so that you are more tired earlier that evening. I would do it slowly- like a half hour or hour each day until your back on your normal sleep schedule. Just an idea. Linda

I am having same problems. I have even posted already about it. I can sleep on all sides now since I am 6 weeks out. But still toss and turn all night and basically sit at work in a coma all day long. It is horrible. My doc put me on sleep aids but only gave me 20 days worth. One thing that did help me a bit was take a LOOOONNNGG hot bath right before bed. Sue 273/261/230/140

I'm having the same problem. My Doctor gave me ambien to sleep and that works but I hate to take a sleeping pill. One of the Doctor's thought that it could be my thyroid medicine or prozac as it can cause those symptoms, the other thought it was just reaction to the surgery. Maybe as we heal more it will get better, let's hope!! Jo

I've been tossing & turning a lot at night, too. It's so frustrating. I do so love my sleep! I can't figure out why. I had surgery (Lap RNY) on July 19th. I'm not having much pain. Sometimes when I lay on my stomach wrong, but I just can't seem to get comfortable. Then I fall asleep (finally) super late and sleep in much too late! Yikes, how am I going to work if this keeps up? Maybe this is a normal cycle, since it seems like a lot of us are in it. I hope it gets better; for all of us! Lisa Lap RNY July 19, 2005 360/345/308/160

I too am having problems sleeping lately . I am 3 weeks post-op and prior to now I have been of and on sleeping faily well, but lately I have go to bed tired but can't get to sleep. After a hour or two I do get to sleep but then I sleep late. I would love to be able to just go to sleep and sleep through the night without tossing and turning. BTW I don't sleep during the day either.
