sleeping problems
Hi Jo.
I had my surgery 1 day before you. I had problems sleeping at first because I can't sleep on my back and it hurt to go to my side. I found that I was able to sleep better when I propped a whole bunch of pillows up behind me. I even sleep this way when I sleep on my side now.
I also find that I sleep better when I am more active during the day. I seem to have gotten into a habit of sleeping in late and then being up really late. I am working on trying to wake up earlier so that I hopefully be tired at a normal time.

I had surgery on the 27th and sleep is a problem! It is very odd - I can only sleep for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours at a time. I wake up either having a hard time breathing or my legs will be achy! It is really uncomfortable. I am able to sleep on my side which helps. I can't wait till I can sleep the entire night through!!

I did. Especially when I went back to work. I had WLS in March, and my surgeon prescribed Ambien. I took it for 2 months and am fine. It takes our bodies a while to adjust and recoup from surgery. I had insomnia bad for weeks, but Ambien helped. So it's normal in some post-op patients and it passes. Hang in there!

Jo-
I am having trouble getting comfortable for sleep. I can't sleep on my sides yet. And I really miss it!!!!!
I sleep with a huge mound of pillows and I am practically sitting up. Sometimes I wake up and my rear end hurts because this position is uncomfortable!
I slept the night before last about half the night on my side. It didn't hurt while I did it. But the next day I seemed really sore. So last night it was back to the sore bum and sitting up.
I can't wait until I can sleep through the full night without waking up in discomfort!
