Surgery was one month ago and I still am having lots of trouble eating and tons of nausea.Anyone else? I went to the Doc a couple of days ago and he said that he thought I was just irritating the new connections. So he perscribed me some meds to coat my stomach. It's helping a little but I still am having a lot of trouble. I'm thinking of going back to liquids for a day or two. If anyone has any suggestions please post back. I am very upset and regretting ever doing this. I have yet to eat anything that goes down easy. I end up with a stomach ache or nausea. I am so sick of eating I don't even want to eat anymore, but I know I have too. I got so upset today ,I was crying and mad at everyone in the family . I just want some relief . I want to feel normal again. Sorry I'm so negative tonight I'm just having a really bad day and it seems that most others are doing so great I just want to be doing great too. Thanks alena

Alena I know that feeling, that was happening to me just this weekend. Are you drinking your correct amount of water? I found that I was not drinking enough so I started me drinking more.....I felt everytime I put food in my mouth it was coming up but I am still learning to eat slowwwwwwwww get a baby spoon and use this to show you the portion that goes in your mouth and this might help do not give up it will be worth it in the end!!!!! I was upset Sunday because I was not losing any weight like every one else so I cried and was angry at myself for making this life changing decision but I am doing ok now but our emotions are normal keep the faith and you will be fine!!!! My doc has not progressed me to pureed yet. I am still on full liquids and I think this extended time for pouch healing has really helped. In my own opinion, I think some docs progress the food stages too quickly and it does cause problems. I would try to go back to full liquids for a bit. But I am not a doctor this is just my opinion. Best of luck. Sue 273/261/230/140

Alena, I agree with Sue on this one. PLEASE dont give up, sweetie! You will get through this. We ALL will! I have been discouraged b/c of head hunger, and slow weight loss! Just go back to puddings and cream soups for a few days and see if it helps. But also, tell your doctor. He needs to know!

Don't give up....remember, that everyone's body is a little different. I like the baby spoon idea, i just might use that myself! Keep your head up and just remember, it will get better!

Hi! I was having alot of problems also, I didn't want anything to eat because it came right back up. I had alot of emesis and dry heaves. Well I had my surgery July 5 and exactly 1 month to day I was back in hospital. I had a blockage at the opening of pouch, The doc had to go and dilate my opening.I just got out of hospital today. If you continue I would ask your doctor to have a upper GI done to see if you have a blockage. Best of luck, It was no fun to go through that and I sure do know how you feel. Betty Gaff

There really was no food that gave me a blockage, where the pouch opened and the incision was when it was healing it closed the pouch all together. It was the most awfulness thing I have ever had. I hope noone has to go through this. If you have continous nausea and cannot handle any type of food or liquids please call your doc and get checked. My potassium had dropped so much in 2 days that i could of had a heart attack Good Luck Betty

Well I started getting sick last Thursday. I was vomitting, dry heaving, nausea and having stomach pains. I had started taking birth control 2 days before that and had to take them in double doses to catch up to the days. I couldn't keep anything down except ice chips. My surgeon admitted Monday night and ran all kinds of test and couldn't find anything wrong. He discharged me and I was fine until yesterday evening when I drunk my protein sick and I became sick again. I go to the dr in 2 weeks for a follow up and maybe he will figure out what is wrong. I hope everyone will feel better soon.

Hey Tasha I sure Hope you feel better. Since I posted this I have been trying to eat more liquids and I have been feeling a lot better. Just a thought Tasha , did you know the pill can make you nauseus? I had that problem a long time ago when I was on the pill. I hope you feel better and make sure you post and let everyone know how you are doing. alena
