I am also 2 weeks out (7/26) and seem to have a tough time getting any quantity of food down. I don't seem to want to eat at all, and when I do I usually only eat a tablespoon or two at a time. I'm hoping it will improve though, because it is getting tough to get all the meds and protein down. Congrats to all and good luck!!

Hi Tiffany, I am 4 weeks out today. At this point I am still on pureed food for another week and then soft. For breakfast, lunch and dinner I do not eat more than 2oz and it satisfies me. I really can no say I'm hungry. I get in all my protein (protein drinks to make up for protein I lack with food) my doc has a minimum requirement of 75 grams a day. 90% of the time I get in my fluids. I have not "pushed the envelope" or have I "cheated" in any way and I am not hungry. I'm a little annoyed that I have only lost 19 lbs so far but I'm hoping this will pass soon ~ especially when I see other doing so much better than me ~ it's depressing. Peggy B

Hi, I had my surgery on the 18th. Im 3 weks out today. My diet shoujld be about 1/2 cup for each meal now. But it seems like I can fit more in there. Even though I may fit more in there, im still planning on sticking to the meal plans and diet I was given. I can start on soft foods now like tuna and cheese, eggs... Im a little nervious though. I feel hunger and never feel that full feeling. IM also afraid of streaching out my pouch. And I have no probelms drinking 8 oz of crystal light in about a half hour. I hear people talk about how hard it was for them to get in all thier fluids. Im having no problems. One of my breakfast meals would consist of 1/4 cup of oatmeal and 1/4 cup egg white blended with 1oz of cottage cheese. Lunch 1/4 cup tuna and 1/4 cup applesauce. Dinner 1/4 cup scrambled eggs and 1/4 cup low fat milk. Thats just a sample meal from my dietaciation(sp) that works with my Surgon and all the weight loss pre and post-ops. So thats what im doing until my 6 week mark. Then I can start on things like cerel, rice, carrots, beef...pretty much onto a regular diet from then on. Now is my chance to really be responciable for what goes in my mouth. Im sticking to small portions 1/2 cup and 3/4 cup after my six week mark even if Im not feeling full. And if I feel hungry I just start pouring down the liquid. That helps alot. If I dont drink anything for a couple of hours I find myself feeling hungry. Ok so thats that. Sorry for the long post. Have a good night! Malinda

I had my surgery on 7-25 but Ihave noticed nad I read that thrist mimicks hunger. is it possible the not full feeling in the beginnings of dehrydration. I was told to drink water or other acceptable fluids alot. I can eat ( I use this loosely) 1.5 cups or mushroom soup with added protien powder in like 45 mins. I am not really feeling hunger but I notice that i need fluid more than food now. Michaele

My surgery was 7/13. I've been on solid foods for over a week, soft foods the week before that. Tonight I had an asian chicken salad. I can eat about 1/3 cup of solid food. More of soft foods or soups. If I eat my 1/3 cup, don't feel full, and then have more - I'm overfull and it feels lousy. No dumping, just very uncomfortable. -Another Pam

Well, I am 4 weeks out from surgery. I can eat lots of different things without problems. However, if I get much past 3oz of protein, I get uncomfortably full and have to walk it off. Last night, I had my biggest dinner yet. I had 3-4 oz of Filet mignon steak (very soft), about 5 small green beans (I am craving the veg) and about 2 bites of baked potato with butter. I was full and a little uncomfortable for about 20 minutes. I do have hunger. It doesn't take much to ease it though. I have mostly been eating only protein. I had my first piece of bread yesterday. I spread some crushed peanuts (natural pb) on to a slice of Ezekial bread. It did okay. I noticed that many of you are having tomato based products. My doc does not allow any tomato or citrus for the first 6 weeks to avoid irritation of the new stomach. It is all a learning process isn't it? Kimmer 280/255/150 sw/cw/goal
