It happened for the first time

So Friday night I threw up for the first time. I had horrendous pain in my chest and kept burping and then finally it happened. I hate throwing up. I'm pretty sure this isn't dumping, but does anybody know why it happens. I threw up the sliced turkey I had eaten a half hour before. Does it mean that my pouch wasn't ready for turkey or I didn't chew it enough? Last night I got a similar pain, though not quite as bad after eating a few pieces of watermelon. Just trying to figure how to avoid it. Thanks for your input.

I had the exact same thing happen at a BBQ at a friends house on Saturday. I tried a piece of chicken. I slipped and did not chew it well enough. As I swallowed it I though "OH NO!" Almost immediately the chest pain started then the vomiting. After letting that happen once and I am extremely more careful with eating.

Had this this morning. Eggs and bacon. Once I got it up, felt fine. Think I just ate too much myself. Hope everyone feels better if not already though.

Jenn C. I can feel the pain as I type. This has happen to me 4 times in the past 7 days. I thought I was having a heart attack. After the first time I thought ~ I'll never do that again ~ and it has happened three more times. It has always been at dinner time and I'm thinking I am eating too fast and/or not chewing good enough. Whatever the reason ~ it is very painful. Peggy B

I seem to be okay with turkey. I had a south beach turkey club (turkey, bacon pieces, lo fat mayo, 2 % cheese, a whole wheat tortilla wrap). I did not eat all the ww wrap. There were makings for two in the box and I had part of one. I felt pretty good afterwards. Maybe this turkey is easier on our pouch for some reason or maybe it is just me. I probably shouldn't have had the ww tortilla (soft) but I only ate some of it. I chewed really really well. Pam W

Jenn- It has happened to me a couple of times but I know the reason. The first time I was not diligent in making sure that all of the chicken skin was removed from my piece. That didn't last but 3 seconds in my stomach. The second time, my husband bbq'd some shrimp and it was way to dry. It got stuck in my throat. Can't drink the water to help it down, so out, out, out it came. The third time, I ate too much. My last bite was spinach so I can assume you know the end result. For me, the bottom line is eat very slowly, which I am not used to and know when the pouch is full. This is the big key...............if you think the bite is too much, it probably is. I know that 3 times is way to many. I hate to vomit so I am being way more cautious. I have eaten turkey so I don't think that it was the turkey. I think you might have been too full. Just take your time and when you are ready, try it again. I am sure that you will have better luck!! Anjanette
