Carbohydrate Question

Hi Tiffany- I guess the schools of thought vary from surgeon to surgeon. My surgeon said soft and that included TOASTED bread or crackers. Sometimes, when I am eating tuna or chicken salad, I need a crunch. I use the 100 calorie snack packs of baked wheat thins. I have never had a problem with this and I am satisfied. Also, once a week in the morning, I will have 1 slice of Sara Lee Low Carb bread TOASTED with butter spray. Again, I have had no problems with this. I do have to eat it after I begin eating my eggs or I won't get any protein in. That seems to be the key. I have also tried eating a slice of watermelon. Wet, so it helps with the fluids and I feel like I am partaking when everyone else is. Remember, fruits and veggies are carbs too. Just take things slowly and always, always check with your surgeon or nutritionist. What works for some might not work for others. Have a great day!!! Anjanette 242/228/201/160 beg./ preop/ now/ goal
