Sleep Problems
Has anyone experienced insomnia like problems. I am right at one month out from surgery and I don't hurt anymore, but I can't sleep at night. I toss and turn until around 3-4 am every night and I have to get up at 6am for work and it is becoming VERY difficult to work each day.

Hi, I remember your picture as one who wished me well on my surgery. Sorry you are having sleep problems. I am one of those kind all the time unless I take tylenol PM every nigh. Although I've recently heard that they are not easy on your liver. And I have fatty deposits per Dr. Baker on my liver now so I guess I'd better rethink what I'm doing. Good Luck! your weight loss is wonderful. Hope others can help you on the board. Cil
Sue,
I have the same problem.
i had my 1 month post op- last thursday - and my surgeon said to exericise more!! do light weights, water aerobics, walk faster..- get moving- i was already walking 2 miles a day!!
well- it worked- for 1 or 2 nights- but now it's back...
i got a professional massage yesterday- and i slept like a baby last night.
but here it's 10:50- and i have a feeling i'm not going to be able to sleep
good luck
jennifer
Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
I asked my Dr and he said it's just our bodies adjusting to the changes. Basically grin and bare it.
Not sleeping is keeping me from going back to work on Monday. I just can't make it through a 12 day with no sleep.
Hope this is just another adjustment we have to go though and I hope it goes away soon!
Feel better soon Sue.
All my best,
Amy
Hi Sue --
We share the same surgery date and Im in the same boat too...I actually have sleep apnea and have found since surgery I cant sleep w/the machine (or without it )Of course my sweetheart is thrilled that I can hug him without air blowing in his face at night or down his back but its rough because Im not getting a solid nights sleep.
I fall asleep but Im up every few hours (which is the apnea) --- last night I actually slept str8 thru 5 hours -- the dr said that is just the changes our bodies are going thru and it will pass --- time will tell ...
hang in there and congrats on the weight loss!

I feel the same way, I sleep for a few hours and then I am up. I have not been exercising like I should because I have been resting when I feel tired...which leads to alot of napping which leads to staying up half the night....I hope that this will pass as well ....I though it was due to all the vitamins and protein etc....well I guess we will see.

You're definitely not alone. I'm also having sleep problems. Before the surgery,I could sleep anytime. Now,I lay awake til late at night, unable to sleep. When I asked the doctor about this,I was told to walk during the day and gradually add to the length of the walks. I will try this and see if it works!
