I had surgery on the 28th and am on liquids for another 10 days. I am so tired of water, crystal lite, jello and broth. Does anyone have any suggestions for creative liquid meals? Becky

Not liquid per say, but a great one to eat... I'm at 13 months post-op and recently discovered it, but I love it Protein Pudding: http://store.bariatriceating.com/proteinpudding.html I also blended a lot of things, i.e., spinach with chicken broth. Also improvised with canned salmon by blending it and then straining it and making a sorta soup out of it... I wanted to make sure I was getting protein in... so I got creative Angie http://www.geocities.com/tiger_angie

p.s. I also had protein shakes. As you can see... I certainly took to heart, and still do, what they tell us about protein being KEY to our health... in addition to the vitamin and mineral supplementation

I'm still on liquids to and my DR. says I can scramble up an egg white only and put it into a broth or miso soup. It's pretty good. Just cook the miso, or the broth to a small boil and then add the egg white slowley. Now I'm really careful to make sure to desolve the egg white before it goes down. I don't want any clogs!!!!!!! I'm also allowed to eat sugar free pops and there a nice change. I'm not allowed to eat soft foods for 2 weeks so don't feel to bad mine is longer. But remember it's just a short while and then you'll get to start to taste other stuff. And you'll be losing better at this time. take advantage of this time of healing your stoma. you don't want to do any damage to it. I know people who cheat with soft foods before there DR says and they have to have the scope put down there throat to reopen there stoma and It's pretty painfull. So no thank you for me I don't want to go there. Are you not allowed to have the clear liquid protein called ISOPURE. They have lots of flavors and they are pretty good. I started on them on the third day. And I drink 4oz at a time so I can absorb it all I have to take 30min. to drink it. I do this 4 times a day and it's pretty good.Well good luck, be patient with yourself the other things will be here before you know it. Keep yourself real busy and the time will fly by!!!!! Blessings, Bonnie

Becky- If your still totally clear liquids (and it sounds like you are) You can get some protein in by drinking Nectar Roadside Lemonaide protein powder mixed with water. It taste a bit like a crystal light thing to me. And you can get a bit of protein in. Linda

Save on Supplements and GNC have protein powder shakes that just use water and taste a whole lot better than what you mentioned. When you get to full liquid, add fat free non-dairy creamer for more taste. Also, think about investing in a Majic Bullet, from Walgreens or internet. It liquifies anything and makes shakes out of the protein mixes mentioned that are a real treat. Good Luck JO
