Good Morning July People
Hi Tami. Thanks for asking. I'm doing fine today. Tired. Haven't got the protein/water routine down smoothly yet. In fact, I'm starting to dislike the flavor of protein drinks a lot. I've been mixing unflavored whey with a 1/2 banana and ice and water. Mixed vanilla with banana. Mixed chocolate protein straight with ice and water. I'll keep playing with it.
I had my surgery in Mexico (July 13th), and not having a surgeon close by to be my resource, I've been a little more adventurous with my food. Week one, all liquids. I included some soups (szechwan carrot soup was pretty good) that I made from scratch. Week two included soft foods like cottage cheese and string cheese. Last Saturday I had a minature hamburger patty (low fat) with cheese. I've also had tuna fish with low fat mayo and boiled egg with low fat mayo and tiny bits of chicken. All very well chewed. So far nothing has made me gag or be nauseous except too much. I eat my 1/3 cup and do fine. If I wait 10 minutes and eat more, I want to puke. If I eat 1/2 cup instead of 1/3, I want to puke. Only actually did so once.
How am I doing? Great. I'm doing walks, like spending hours at a local steet fair wandering around. However, not doing it regularly. I've committed to playing soccer starting again in the last half of September (after a 9 month hiatus becasue my knees hurt running around with 300 plus pounds on them), so I'll need to get some stamina.
I weigh myself every day or so. I "officially" weigh myself every Wednesday morning. I'm down 34 pounds, but that includes the week of liquid diet before the surgery. I don't have a surgery day weight because the surgeon's office scale was so much different than mine, and I can't afford to do weekly weigh-ins in Mexico to use his as the base.
