Q. On first bowel movement??????

So all you peeps when did you have your first bowel movement?? Please only the ones who are on the clear liquids only. Not anybody who had any kind of food yet. I was just wondering about the time frame? Thanks, Bonnie

I had bm's in the hospital, and very very liquid ones during my first week post op on clear liquids. I think the bowels are VERY individual....have you not gone yet? I wouldn't be TOO concerned, esp if you did a bowel prep before surgery.

No nothing yet, and no bowel prep either. I did eat real lite for 3 days before my surgery and of course the clear liquids the day before. The day before I did have 1 or 2 bm's very liquidy. So maybe in a day or two I hope. I'm on the clear protien now so maybe soon Thanks, Bonnie

Surgery Wednesday and I think my first was the following Monday and it was all liquid and nasty because some scar tissue and stuff from sugery comes too. Not a pretty sight but it gets better.

I am not on clear liquids now, but when I had my first bowel movement I was. I had my surgery on a friday and by monday morning I had my first bowel movement. Good Luck Laura

Bonnie when I was on clear liquids my doctor gave me a ducolax suppository to get things going after surgery, it helped and been fine since. I had real watery stools until I started on soft foods day 11. i had my first BM 3 days after surgery.

My surgery was tuesday the 26th, BM was friday the 29th. I was on the clears still. Yuckkkkkkkyyyy!! Just so that you know. Donna p.

Well just to let you all know I had a feeling as soon as I posted this I'd get a good cleanen out!!!!!!! This morning I have had 2 bm's already. So I'm goen good nowno pun intended!!!!! Anyway thanks for all the imfo. gals Bonnie

Bonnie- I had my first bowel movement about 4 days after. It was very loose. I then had several small loose bowels over the course of 4 days (lots of gas with it). Then nothing since. I'm on liquids. And no bowel prep. It was weird! That's all I can say. And I can't believe I am sharing my bowel movements with the world! Linda
