Surgery on July 26th

I had my surgery on the 26th of July and was home on the 29th. I have the usual tenderness from the surgery but the only pains I ever get are from the gas still stuck in there. I was sent home w/21 staples over 7 small incisions and 1 JP drain still in and those come out in just a matter of hours. Yippee. I can admit to having the problem many others have. I have pants that I wore prior to surgery that were just a bit too big and now I can barely get them buttoned. I even lost 12 pounds in the 2 weeks prior to surgery thanks to the yucky 2 weeek Carnation Instant Breakfast diet. Anyway, I am excited to be on this side and look forward to sharing my weight loss w/everyone.

Hello my fellow 26'er Gald to hear your doing well. I bet it will be great to get the staples and JP drain out. It's so good to have this place to share with each other about our problems/questions. I know I have posted here a couple of time with problems I had been having and was so relived to hear many others had the same experience. Keeps you from feeling alone and helps to know that it will get better. Take care my fellow 26'er. Join us for the Sunday Weigh in if you would like. We would all love to celebrate your weight loss with you and ours in return. my best, Amy www.closertofine.net

Cindy- I didn't have an open so I can't relate to the staples personally. However, I can only imagine that you will be feeling like a new woman once you get that stuff out!!!! Congrats! Linda

I do feel even better than before now that I lost my "extra's" but I didn't have open either. It was LAP but the 7 small incisions I did have were closed with staples.

Hello! I also had surgery on the 26th. I don't think I am losing very much weight yet, I went to the doc on 8/1 and I had lost 7 lbs. I really dont have a way to keep up with it at home, as my bathroom scale tells me ten different stories! I sometimes feel my appetite is too big! It's then that I wonder, hey! Did this man make my pouch small enough? lol Good luck on your journey!

Congrats on the 7lb loss. I too went to the doctor on 8/1 and had only lost 6lbs. in my first week but they way I see it...6 is better than 0. =) Anyway, I must say at times I feel the same way about my pouch possibly being too big. I was advanced to the moist and mushy after 1 week b/c I had no nausea and just couldn't stand the Instant breakfast anymore. It seems sweeter now than it did before surgery, strange I know, but yesterday I ate some soft pasta and I ate what appeared to be quite a bit to my surprise. For the most part I have to force myself to eat but that just sounded so good and I even stopped when I was full but it did leave me wondering as well.
