Hi All, I got home yesterday and I am dealing with pain big time, no one seems to talk about this too much. I am on Oxycoton and Tylenol 3 for pain management. The surgery went well (Thank Allah) I have 5 insizsion sites and one where the JP drain was. I am tired of broth already. I am glad that I made it to the other side. I did not think it would be so painful, but this is also my first and hopefully my last major surgery. It feels like I can feel stuff moving around in my stomach, lots of pressure and swelling, dh has to help me with just about everything. I get tired reallt easily. Hope all is well with everyone I am getting tired again

Hi, Leem, my surgery was 7-25. and since i've been home all I feel is gas pains.. They are killing me.. I am not taking any pain medicine because pain medicine will not help the gas..I go to the doctors tomorrow to get this drain out. I think that's what your having to because that's the same symptoms I have.. Yes am tired of broth too but actually me eating something thicker, like pudding etc seems to go down better.. When I drink liquids.. they hurt and make me feel weird.. so I just eat ice.. I hope you feel better..

Hey girl, Are you walking alot because I found that this helps alot with the pain and the GAS especilly. I notice that the most pain is the GAS!!!!!!! Not the surgery pain. So if I were you I would try walking when you feel pain comming on. I'll bet you will feel better after you walk about 15 min. or so. Give it a try. Hope this helps. If you have to much pain and your doing everything right then call your Doctor and let him know. Blessings, Bonnie

Hi Leem - I had quite a bit of gas pain, but was able to take gas-x to help it. Check with your doctor and see if that helps. I've been having a terrible pain in my shoulder blade, but the doctor said it could be my gall bladder and gave me some medicine and it seems to be doing better. If you're looking for some alternate protein sources, I really like the international delights sugar free coffees (decaf) with Unjury protein. It's like a little treat before I go to bed and when I mix them theres 20 grams of protein. As far as the rumbling, that will go away too. I wasn't expecting it and thought I was reliving an Alien movie for a while, but it did get less and less as they days went on. Keep up your spirits and do as much walking as you can. It will definately help. Lynn

Hello. I am feeling the same way. I had surgery on 7/28 and came home on 7/30. I keep reading here about people "home and feeling great". I don't feel horrible I guess but I surely do not feel great. I have a lot of pain in my right side and it hurts to move. I can walk but it hurts a lot to stand straight up. Therefore, I am scrunching my back up and it is in terrible pain now. I am on Oxycotin and Percocets for pain control. I also feel things moving around in there. Good luck! Shellie
