Amy-
Boy I hope your right!
I did drop those last 3 lbs so now I am back to square one! At least every pound from here out I can count as due to surgery! Yeah!!
I go so up and down with energy. One moment I feel GREAT! A few hours later I feel like I stayed up all night for two nights.
I am thinking once I can find a way to get more protein in that I will be feeling better all day!!!
Congrats on your progress Amy!
Linda
Hello Linda,
My surgery date was 7/5/2005
I had open RNY
I have lost 25 pounds so far.
At first I was a wreck, I even regretted it for about a week. The doc put me on Paxil, but three days into the prescription, I felt better and stopped taking them. I lost 17 pounds at my 2 week postop visit. But the past two weeks the scale doesn't want to be as kind. I was really hoping to lose more at one month, but I am still grateful for the 25 pounds. I have also had a problem with a lump on the left side op my incision. The doc said it was probably a fluid pocket but it gets painful at times, especially at night. Otherwise, doing great. No vomiting at all, but have more dizzy spells than ever before. Blessings to all in your journey.

Hi Linda,
Well surgery was July 6th
Laproscopic RNY
At my 2 week check up it was only 14lbs and bummed me out
So I weighed myself 1 week later and the scale read 290.3. I started at 328.9, I felt like a million dollars all day long, nobody could ruin my day even if they tried too
There has been hardlly no pain at all. 2 weeks later though my 2 feet were starting to blow up really bad, especially the right one. They did ultra sound and found blood clots. So weekly I go for blood work so they keep an eye on me so they can know what kind of meds to give me *****ally knows whats going on cause I don't Still finding out what kinds of food I can tolerate and not. So I've had my share of vomitiing and feeling sick and tired alot but doing pretty good now except for the feet thing. Good luck everyone hey lets keep in touch our lives are justt beginning all over again

Surgery Date July 12
RNY
Lost 23lbs . I lost 20 the first 10days now things have almost stopped.
I am feeling good now, first two weeks had a lot of anxiety, I was worried something bad going to happen. I am feeling sooo much better this week and starting to have more energy everyday.
Has anyone elses weight loss stalled after big initial loss or is it just me?
#1 Surgery Date? 7/5/05
#2 Type of Surgery? Lap RNY
#3 Weight lost? 28.5 pounds
#4 How are you feeling (Emotionally and Physically)? Emotionally I am doing fine. Every once in awhile I get a craving for something. I'm just trying to make it to Wednesday when I see the doctor and get a diet advancement.
Physically, I'm not doing so well. I struggle to get my liquids in (lucky to get 32 oz.), which has resulted in some dehydration. I was back in the hospital a week and a half after surgery to rehydrate, and I have to admit I am feeling a lot of the same symptoms now. I have virtually no energy, which is a huge problem. It's like a vicious cycle because I know I need to be exercising and getting out to up my stamina, but I feel like crap most of the time which makes me not want to do anything.

Linda (what an excellent name you have),
I will join in
1)Surgery date same as your 7/26
2)Lap RNY
3)I did get weighed at home yesterday, but I don't know if my scale matches the doctor's so I am waiting until my first post-op appointment on Wednesday to see where I am.
4)I'm feeling fine emotionally. I am looking forward to some protein after my pre-op appointment, but doing the liquid diet has not caused a problem. I'm not hungry, and I don't feel deprived. I'm convinced this is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I had lapRNY on July 12. My scales say that I have lost any where from 31 to 34 pounds. It varies a little from day to day. I have been feeling great the whole time. So far nothing has made me the slightest bit sick. I have really been trying to behave myself though. I have been eating soft foods. I tried to eat the baby food like the doctor suggested and just couldn't handle it. I think this surgery is fantastic!
