Calcium?
Kila,
From what I've read, Calcium Citrate is the better absorbed calcium, and is hard to find in a chewable, but when I spoke to my doc yesterday he said that Calcium Carbonate is just fine. The important thing is just to be sure to get it period. There are TONS of chewable carbonates out there. Tums has carbonate, so I'm sure it's ok with your doc. I can't recommend a brand because I haven't gotten it yet, but I'm sure you'll find some at walmart or your drugstore. Ask the pharmacist. GOOD LUCK!

I am 11 days out after surgery. I had a Lap Rou-en-y. During the pre-op class I went to at St. Vincent Carmel (Indiana), they said to try Viactiv (spelling?). I got the CVS no-name brand of it and take 2 each day. The kind I got was carmel. It is very tasty. Everyone in the family had to take one just to be sure it was okay. My dietician told me I didn't have to take them if I got all of my protein in or at least the majority of it through milk. I have been using a milk shake recipe that is wonderful and very tasty. Much easier to get all my milk in. I am lactose intolerant so I use Lact=Aid Fast Act. Works great. (5 or 6 frozen strawberries, pureed in the blender, 5 or 6 ice cubes (pureed in the blender), 2 splenda packets, and 2 cups of 1% milk-----all blended together and it tastes just like a milk shake! 16 gms of protein) good luck in all you do!
