Oh yeah and I got weighed in today and Im down 18 pds from the day of surgery and I lost a total weight of 45 pds from day one of starting the process of pre-op till now .
Thanks if any one can help
Kris
I've been eating (so to speak - such little servings) instant cream of wheat, FF refried beans with some melted mozerella on it, some strained soups, instant oatmeal (chew good). My doc says at this point I can have soft cooked eggs, pureed meat such as tuna, be sure to make it moist however you try it. Sorry to say, not much out there works right now, besides I can only have a bite or two before I'm full anyway. I haven't weighed in yet but I'm looking forward to it. Should be a big surprise.
Congrats on your surgery.
Kris,
I had the same surgery date, and my advice is about the same. My doc generally says, 1 week clear liquids, next week add soupy mashed taters, grits, things of that nature, then week 3 add pureed meats, eggs, etc. He also says that if you are handling one stage well, go ahead and start experimenting with the next level. So you should be ok with trying some creamed soups, taters, grits, refried beans, eggs, etc.. If you are braver than I am, puree some canned tuna (in water) or canned chicken. Add a tiny bit of mayo or milk and whip it up. It just sounds gross to me! LOL I'm afraid to go to that step. If it makes you feel ill, just wait a few days and try it again. Good luck!
