Im a little over 1 week post-op and I have been increasingly thirsty over the past few days. I can only get down 3-4 oz a fluid at a time, but I feel like I need to chug a a glass of cold water. Im constantly nibblin on ice chips and sippin water when I can, but my mouth is still really dry. Has this been a problem for anyone else?

YES! For the first few days I couldn't get much fluid down at all, now 3-4 ounces is about right for me, too. And, I also have to have it very cold and chew on ice chips quite a bit. Flavors are still pretty strong for me, so water is really the only thing that tastes good at the moment. When I sleep, I keep a cup of water next to me - when I wake up my mouth has been so dry! Hi Neshia-I was so thirsty for the first 2 weeks. My doctor allowed sugar free or no added sugar fruit ice pops. All doctors are so different on the post op diet issue. Anyway, the popsicles are the only thing that helped me get over the thirst issue. I am in my 3rd week post op and still eat the popsicles. Take care-joyce

I went and got one of those cheap snowcone machines at WalMart and found some SF flavoring. That has been awesome in quenching my thirst.

Did you find the SF flavoring at Wal-mart too? Thanks Crystal -23.5#

No, but I did find it at Target. I heard WalMart carries it, but never could find it there.
