Hi AL-ll- I'm about one week post-op,and still pretty much on liquids except for yogurt or pudding. My question is , i still have yet to feel that full feeling everyone talks about. Is it cuz i'm still on the liquids? I sip things very slowly as instructed. Am just worried pouch is too big or something. Any thoughts on this appreciated. Pam

I am almost a week post op and only once or twice have I noticed I was full, the way I know I'm full now is because my nose gets runny, or I start to burp alot. Laura

Im a little over a week post-op and I cant say for certain that I have had a "full" feeling although I can honestly say I havent had any hunger pains either. I too figure Im full when I start to burp or feel "gassy". Im still on liquids, thin mashed potatoes, yogurt, and pudding too. Im only able to drink about 3-4 oz of fluid or 1/4 cup of the other things without feeling gassy.

I am so thankful for this board where I can relate to those who have had surgery close to mine and ask the same questions as I have. I have worried about this too. Last night I ate about 1/2 cup jello fairly quickly-have GOT to learn not to do that. It didn't bother me and I thought "oh no! my pouch is way to big-they said it was only golf ball size, so why could I eat the jello that fast?" I am not hungry, though, but am looking to going to the full liquid stage so more variety. Have to qui****ching tv because things look good now, and can't believe how much of tv commercials deals with food!!! Well need to go walk. Luci

Are you measuring your food? If you are weighing the food to 2oz size.. then you probably won't (at least I didn't ) get that full feeling... I just knew I was done. I know I am done when suddenly I think another bite doesn't sound good... I get hiccups... or I get a weird, small, kinda "tight" feeling in my middle chest area.

Hi Pam I am a little over 2 weeks post op. I never get a full feeling. When I eat too much it hurts or it feels like it is stuck in my throat and I am going to dump. I am not a person that throws up so it just gets stuck there. I too thought I would have this full feeling and that is when I had enough. Turned out I was eating too much. So had to go back to measuring. I think it all a matter of getting used to . I thought my pouch was too big too. But I think it takes time to heal too. Just a thought Hope all is going well with you otherwis hugs from Houston Pam

Pam- I am only 5 days post op, and tonight for the first time I wanted REAL food!! I am constantly sipping most of the day to get my 50grams of protein and 32 oz of liquid in-but I have not felt that FULL feeling at all! But when I drink too fast, I really start burping!! I guess this is normal from all that I have read. Debbie
