I'm having a hard time getting in my protein shakes. I'm still on the liquid diet and I'm only getting in 20 grams of protein a day. I drink 3 oz of protien 4 times a day. I go and see my doctor today so I will probably be on the soft food diet. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

My surgeon required a 4 week "post-op" surgery class. The recommendations I got from that were as follows: * Use unflavored protein powder in anythng you eat or drink. The one I will use has 17 grams of protein for one scoop. You can put it in water, crystal light, masked potatoes, pudding, oatmeal, yogart, soup, etc. One scoup to me is a little much for one serving of anything but you can measure out one scoup and use it through out the day. That would get you up to almost 40 grams a day. I will actually be using 2 scoups a day plus 20+ grams from protein drinks. * There is a pudding called Snack & Slim that has 20 grams of protein for one serving. I just got it yesterday but haven't tasted it yet. I hear it is pretty good. * Make sure to eat about every 2 - 3 hours and always have something with protein. How much protein does your doctor recommend a day? Good luck. Shellie

Hey Kila- I have mixed unflavored Unjury brand protein in something everyday. Also, I have tried pureed tuna, chicken and shrimp. If I have a yogurt with my unjury in it for breakfast, I have 31g of protein in by breakfast. Cottage cheese is also currently working for me. It just takes awhile to get this in. Good Luck, Kim

Protein: 60 or more grams for females 75 or more grams for males Water: 64 oz or more per day for everyone That's what we are to do. I also use the protein isolate 25 grams per 1 oz. I mix it in 8 oz of liquid (on liquids still) Good luck!

Kila- you really need to get in those 50 grams of protein/day in order to prevent hair loss, and just plain fatigue- Isopure has a bottled drink that I got at GNC in different flavors-kind of tastes like kool-aide-a 20 oz bottle has 40 grams of protein!! And it does not taste bad!! Try them! Debbie
