Congrats Tasha-I'm glad your home and doing well. Walking was hard for me at first also but I can honestly say it got better each time I walked. I am now almost 2 weeks post op and can walk without any problems. I had open RNY with a very large incision so my abdomen is still sore but does not cause a problem with walking. Take Care and God Bless, joyce
Tasha, glad to see you are home. As painful as it might be, get up and walk,,,,,,,,,,it will make you feel better in the long run because it helps you get rid of gas. I bought some unflavored whey at a GNC health food store. I add a scoop of it to skim milk along with a spoonful or two of sugar free Nestles Quick. It gives you 21 g. of protein and that helps your energy level. It also mixes well with the Sugar free drinks you can get at WalMart. The Great Value brand peach and orange are really good.
I drink my little four one ounce cups at 15 minute intervals with my egg timer.........when all four all gone I get up and walk about 10 laps around the interior of our house. So far it is working pretty good. I am 7 days out and the scale this morning said I was down 22 pounds............course I have a super long way to go. My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.
TASHA:
WELCOME HOME GIRL, I TOO MYSELF CAME HOME ON SUNDAY.
GLAD THINGS WENT WELL MAYBE DR. CAN GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO SLEEP. I KNOW MY SLEEP PATTERN HAS BEEN CHANGED, AND I THINK THE REASONS ARE LACK OF WORKING, LITTLE MOBILITY, AND I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU-BUT I THINK THE PAIN MEDS IM TAKING ARE MAKING ME AN INSOMNIAC. AS FOR WATER INTAKE ETC. ALL WILL COME IN GOOD TIME. GLAD YOUR HOME AND ON YOUR WAY TO BECOMING A LOOSER.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR POSTING TO ME BEFORE SURGERY. GOD BLESS AND TAKE CARE LAURIE
