How long to the swelling goes down???

1 week out, RNY-Open, and my stomach has gone down some but is still pretty swollen. Can anyone advise as to how long it typically takes for a noticable difference takes place. The tenderness is virtually gone however the stomach still remains swollen. I do have 1 drain on my right side that will be removed this Thursday, 1st Post Op visit to my Dr. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron

I had lap last Wednesday and have been thinking the same thing. My husband said it's just my roll but I know I'm still swollen. I will be anxious to hear any replys, maybe you sould post on the main board. Congrats

I hear for lap that it is about 2-3 weeks before it is gone. I am not sure about open...but it is probably similar. Linda PS I agree that you'll get some better answers on the main board probably. More people reading it that are much further down the road. Let us know what you find out!?!?!
