Better Everyday!
Hey there, I'm up early today, I had a killer headache, I think I'm sleeping too much. By 8:00 I had already gotten my kitchen cleaned. I cheated and took some childrens chewable motrin, I needed something for my headache and I sure didn't want to take hydrocodone for that. I hate that stuff, instant sleep, terrible dreams and perenoia. I just KNOW I heard footsteps and people in the house Thursday night, ewww. I took a chewable mutivitamin and I added some unjury (1/2 scoop) to a half box of optifast so that gives me about 15 grams of protein for breakfast. I've got to get some protein in, I can't affrord to get weak in my legs. I talked to my mother-in-law last night and she is going to stop by GNC this morning and bring me some isopure to try. I know it's not that important for the first couple days but with my legs need all the strength I can get. I do actually feel pretty good, just wish the gas would go away, when I get up from laying down it's like dry heaves but just gas so I'm taking chewable gas-x like crazy.
Thank heavens I have not experience head hunger yet, absolutely nothing sounds appealing right now, even popsicles I loved before just taste blahhh now but I'm forcing myself to have a couple a day just to add to the fluids. I was pumped with so many horror stories of people becoming dehydrated and having to go to the hospital because if you let it go too far it's hard to catch up on fluids without medical help so it really makes me nervous. I know, don't worry about it but it's hard.
I was getting in over 75 oz of water a day pre-op simply by adding Torani sf strawberry syrup to it, now it's just nasty. I can't believe my tastes, I heard they would change but wow. I'm likeing this.
Well, I'm going to throw a bra on and go outside for awhile and enjoy some morning weather.
Take care, and I hope all you other recent pre-op are doing awesome.
Janice
I was hoping for the taste changes too, now I'm just hoping it stays. I see posts from new post-op who crave everything and I can't imagine it.
Good luck in your journey and upcoming surgery. You'll do great. Just stalk up on chewable gas-x (I like berry) and have already almost gone through a whole box, sending husband tonight to the store. Also get some chewable or liquid tylonol for the minor pains. You don't want to take meds after second or third day unless you want to sleep the days away. I will take meds at night for a couple days but then I will be done with them completely.
Thank you Janice for the heads up on the gas-x and tylonol. I put it on my grocery list. I still have to call my PCP to get some priscription for my med. I take , ones I can crush. I hope after surgery I can give up all. I am diabetic and I take 3 pills for that. High blood pressure, collesteral. One for the kidney and 2 pills for depression and a thyroid pill. Dr.s say if I have this surgery my diabetious will go away. My daughter-n-laws aunt was on shots and after surgery she takes no pills for anything except vitamins.
By the way I just want to tell you that you are such a pretty girl. I can see it in your picture. Thank you for writing me back. I was beginning to wonder if anyone would. I am kinda new to this web sight. From reading things you write you are pretty inside too. Hang in there good things come to good people.
It is amazing the giant leaps each day seems to bring. I guees it's like the whole SWL endeavor - loose weight quickly -- feel better quickly. I did think that I would not need the Percocet when I got home but the back pain is more that I can take and I am not going to be a martyr!! All in all, each day brings significant relief in different areas. Today is my fifth post-op day and I actually have REAL clothes on! (nothing as formal as a bra yet because my incision may rub and besides, any time I don't have to wear one is fine with me!
Janice, thanks for your posts. I know I looked and looked for early post-ops just before surgery and it is reassuring to read that most of us do quite well right after surgery.
