Got home yesterday doing ok
I'm a loser!!! I had my surgery Wednesday so now I am having to force myself to drink fluids and optifast. Not easy, nothing tastes good at all. Surgery went well although I had a lot of scar tissue from a previous surgery and am sorer than expected. Now I itch like crazy and my tummy is doing flip flops with spasms. no fun. I just hope I recover quick. I feel much better this morning than yesterday morning. I was still in quite a bit of pain until they took my drain out, then I felt alive again but still part zombie. So many people I met in group said what a breeze this was compared to other surgeries, Not to me, this is a bit harder than most of mine but easier than my gall bladder removal. My goal today is to stay awake for most of the day but we'll see how that goes. Oh and to shower, that ought to be an experience.
Don't know when I'll check in again but thanks for all your kind words and prayers.

Don't push yourself... if you are tired... sleep.
Your body is spending that energy healing.
Let it do it's job.
You've got plenty of time to be awake as your energy increases.
I had to have my sister help me shower. She basically bathed me entirely. But I didn't care... I just wanted to get a shower.
How is hubby doing?
Is he feeling calmer now that it is over and you are home?
Thanks Maria, hubby is doing good although he's a trucker and I haven't seen him since wednesday night after my surgery. He's due home any minute. My dear mother-in-law brought me home from the hospital and went and got my meds. Silly me, I didn't think I would need them. Boy was I wrong.
Shower is done, had no trouble but am seriously thinking of sleeping again.
I have to say you made me feel better, I thought you did awesome after surgery and I was feeling sad that I wasn't coming along as fast as others. I know I shouldn't compare myself but when you hear people saying how wonderful they feel and how it was a breeze,and you're laying in bed unable to keep your eyes open and just feeling downright lousy it's not easy.

I have been at home two days since my surgery anmd I am more sore today than yesterday. Part of it is that I refuse to take the liquid pain meds anymore. They make me have HORRIBLE dreams. Today I am making it on extra strength tylenol. I will probably take a muscle relaxer to help me sleep. I was lucky and had my drain removed before I left the hospital. I would NOT have liked having those two little "testicles" hanging down..............well, that's what they looked like!
Hang in there. I have been jungry today and I didn't think I should be feeling hungry for a long time after this surgery. Don't worry, I'm being good.!
