Can't Wait For The New Me

I can't wait to start my new life. It has been way to long a fight with my insurance company. I thought that they would never approve the Gastric Bypass. My Family in California are the ones to help me realize that I was a living time bomb, and could expired at any time because of the health problems that I have, do to the weight I can't seem to lose. I say, "its a losing battle for me", because if I do one thing to solve a problem it causes the other things to start up. It is an never ending battle that I get tired of sometimes. I don't understand why I have to start the liquid diet 2 weeks early. All the other messages I've read, they don't have to start the diet until 1 week before. I'm so greatful to Dr. Kim for working with the Insurance Co. to get the approval I needed. Also to Pam Katekaru for working so hard on my behalf, & putting up with me. May you be blessed by god for your carring enough to keep it up. To everyone who is trying to get ins. approval don't give up, hang in there and be persistant! Life is beautiful. Good Luck to you.

Janelle- Good luck with your surgery and that pre-op diet. I am hating my pre-op diet too. I just keep reminding myself that if my liver is still in the way they will do an open surgery. It keeps me from wanting to stray from my diet. Also, I am thinking that whatever I loose is gone forever (unlike the three million other diets I have been on). Just 12 days for you left! and 11 for me...yikes! Linda

janelle, as far as the 2 week before surgery. i have read that if we are large it helps if we loose some so its easier to move things around when they open us up. and they have told me to eat lite for the 3 days before. so their the drs. must be a good reason. we trust them to do surgery we have to trust them all the way.. hugs sue

I am on the 25th and have to do 2 weeks of the liquids. Shrinks the liver for better maneuvering during laparoscopic surgery. Haven't cheated once... not worth it. Hang in there & best of luck!
