Hi Miss KJ-I did not do a lot of shopping beforehand which was bad. I ran out of time basically. I did buy Propel flavored water, some jello and I ordered Unjury Choclate Protein Drink and Unjury tasteless protein to add to food. Since surgery on July 6th, everything I tried to drink was just to sickening sweet. Could not drink the juices at the hospital nor any of the flavored water. Jello is out of the question for me. I can however drink water and tolerate it better at room temperature. I also love the Unjury Choclate Protein drink. I have not had the chance yet to try the tasteless on regular food. Everyone tolerates different things. You may be fine with jello, juices and broth. I could tolerate the broth as well. I don't know if I should be having the fruit popsicles. They only have the natural sugar-no sugar added and low in calories. I kinda subsituted the popsicles for the juice. I am going to ask my nutritionist when I see her next week. Calorie wise the popsicle is less. I now take Flintstones chewable, extra strength tums, and natures rememdy vitamins. Hope this helps. joyce
Miss K J--The vitamins I bought are from Wallgrens. They gave us a sample at pre-op class. They said they were made especilly for baratric surgery patients. You can only order them on the internet or phone. I bought a bottle of 120 for $24.99 and I take 2 a day. They are made by Resource called OPTISOURCE. Thay gave us a sample and I have been taken them before surgery (orenge chewable flavor). They told us to just buy a little bit of stuff until we have surgery because your taste will change after. I don't know if true or not so I didn't go all out. If you want the website let me know!(I don't have it right here now or I would put it in. Good luck on your surgery.
I bought my calcium today.
They reccommand Viactiv calcium supplement at my pre-op class. I just thought I would let you know I found Spring Vally Calcium suppliment, chewable chocolate at Walmart. I looked at the ingredients in both and they are the same but Spring Vally is half the cost. I don't know what they will taste like after surgery but they are good right now.mmmmmmmm
I also bought Instant protein powder RESOURCE BENEPROTIEN FROM Walgreens. (The website is www.Resource.Walgreens.com )Hope this helps. I'm just doing this 1 day at a time and only buying as I go along.
