Hi July 5'rs. I came through my surgery with flying colors on July 5th. My surgery was at 730am, I don't remember anything until 330pm when the nurse was waking me up in my room. I was discharged the next day, I arrived home at 6pm on Wednesday July 6th. Thanks to my surgeon and his strict regiman prior to surgery, he discharges all of his patients the next day. I'm doing good, each day it gets better and better. I can't wait to hear from the rest of the "5'rs" Jenn

I was discharged last night from the hospital. The ride home was an adventure- bring a pillow with you to press against for the bumps. Everything seems to have gone well. I have more pain now than I did the day or two after surgery. I'm just trying to get in some food here and there. Everything just feels sore on the inside. Hopefully the pain will get better soon. I'll post my whole story from the surgery and hospital tomorrow on my profile. Lauren p.s. Don't weigh yourself when you get home from the hospital. I gained 15 pounds in water weight while there!!! I think 10 or so are already gone 1 day later, but it sucked to see such a high number.

Jennifer... I got home today around noon.... surgery was the 5th... I am so jealous that you got home so soon!!! Amazing! I could easily have come home yesterday, but, they keep monitoring bp and blood... oh well... I'M HOME!! and that's what counts. Glad you are, too... I'm eager to see how we all do! love, Lori C

Hi Jenn, I came home on July 6th. I got discharged at 2pm. First day was okay until I tried to sit up from lying down. I have less pain day after day. I even ventured out today to go see a movie with my dh. Sabrina

Hi guys Had surgery 8:30am on the 5th and dont remember much til around 4:00 when I woke up in recovery. Dr was pleased, said everything went well, I on the other hand couldnt believe the pain. I had previous abdominal surgeries but so wasnt prepared for this. Had the leak test the next morning and low and behold wound up getting sick as a result of it but the test was fine Came home yesterday and yes -- make sure you bring a pillow with you, those bumps are wicked! Make sure you walk and move around -- its so important! Getting stronger every day and the pain is getting better! Glad to be on the losing side!! Deb

Hey guys, my surgery was on the 5th @ around 11:30 am. All I know when I woke up was pain. I got out of the hospital on the 7th. Yeah da ride home was pretty interesting. My hubby was trying to be careful and every bump he said "sorry babe". lol It's funny thinking about it now. SO @ home now I am just trying to stay on top of my liquids and be hydrated. The only reason why I want to go back to the hospital is to be w/my dh on Friday the 15th when he has his surgery. I finally know what he's talking about. I am kinda scared for him. He hasn't said anything about being nervous. Well, I'm telling ya, can't wait till Monday to be released from broth to have some food! lol Sweet

I am home too. Got home Thursday morning... surgery happened about 4:00pm on Tuesday. I had a horrible anesthesia/sinus headache for two days... and it still threatens... but I feel much better. Can't get comfortable, of course. I posted more in another thread today.

Hi all my July 5r's! I'm home now also!!! After a little mishap. came home on thurs like you all and then almost immediately got a fever of 103! Yuck! Doc said I had to go back. All I did was cry  I'm home again now on Sun. Some pain in left side, but not bad. I keep having crazy dreams though - wierd. I am beginning to look at the foods i can't eat right now and think "that would taste so good". god help me. guess it's just head hunger. hope it goes away soon. trying to think of soft foods to eat is hard also. otherwise I'm okay. on the road..... Karen
