hi janice...
congratulations on your loss so far. remember that you are only human and you are doing a GREAT job. i know all too well how hard it is to control the urges. i face them every day. but just stay strong... if you feel like eating call someone, go for a walk, drink some water... remind yourself of how amazing you are going to feel a month from now... AND remember that if your dr wants he can always postpone your date. those are some of the things i reminded myself.. i'm not saying its easy, but hang in there.. you have come too far to be so down on yourself. my surgery is wednesday the 6th and i feel like i could hold up a mcdonalds at this point. lol... it will get easier and better.
good luck and hang in there
jennifer
Janice E. If I could stick to a diet for ever I wouldn't be getting this surgery. I thought it was suppose to help not be hungry. I haven't been told by my Dr. to do liquid diet yet. But If I do I will just take it one day at a time. Like weigh****chers always said forget about yesterday it is over we can't go back and redo it, but today is a new day and I can do this for today and I will worry about tomorrow when it gets here. Good luck on your surgery. Janice K.
O brother Janice...
I see my dietician for my follow-up on the 11th and I'm supposed to lose 14lbs before my surgery on the 27th but I'm not on the liquid diet as of yet either. It seems ever since they told me I've been scheduled all I do is worry about reaching that first goal.
I did really well a few weeks out but now I've seemed to have lost some speed here. I had a 7lb. loss and was really happy with myself and then gained backed 3. I've been struggling now to get off those last last 4 before next Monday. BUT ONE DAY AT A TIME.
I guess we all need one another to help remind us that "any" move forward, no matter how slight, is a success for us. And to get right back on the horse because this our race Janice...and we're, you're, going to win!
Don't punish yourself all your friends here are right beside you...Debbie D.
Janice,
Be Glad you dont live in Delaware, they are very strict on you enrolling in a 6 week program that you must attend classes, pass a written test etc.. I was in a class of 13 and one of the last ones to have my surgery. So many in our class didnt either listen to what they were supposed to or gained weight against the doctors orders, they all had their surgeries regardless. I have to tell you, i paid attention, did what i was supposed to do, followed everything by the book and i figured i would fly through it with no problems, i even told another classmate who was going to have problems because they didnt care, one classmate was trying for surgery for her 4th time. Well, all my classmates had their operations and got out within 3/4 days. I on the other hand was hospitalized for 5 weeks with major complications. I guess the reason i am telling you this is no matter how hard you try to stick to what they want you to follow, it doesnt always work. Since your paying for it yourself, only you can make up your mind whether or not your as serious about changing your lifestyle. $22,000 can buy alot of 3 Musketeers (one of my favorites) but it can also buy you a life altering change. I have no regrets, from what i see in your pictures, your already a beautiful women, all your changing is the exterior of your body. And one other note, after the surgery, food will be the last thing on your mind, i barely eat anything, When you get out of the hopsital and can stomach anything, try Isopure, its a protein drink, one bottle has 40g protein, ask your Doctor about it.
Email me anytime if you like to talk, i may not have all the answers, but i think i have been through enough problems to understand where your coming from and where your going. Reach me at [email protected]
Thank you Kenn, It's nice to hear about the "after" feelings. I spend a lot of time on the main message board as well but it's still nice to hear that I won't be consumed with food thoughts afterward.
I understand what you're saying about requirements. My surgeon required appointments with physical therepists, nutritionists and psychologists plus support groups before surgery.
Janice don't give up. I know it must be hard. My doctor doesn't put his patient on pre op diets because they said if dieting work for you before then you wouldn't need surgery. I have been concerned about my weight also. I contacted my nutrionist and she said it is just nervous eating. It's hard but I have been trying to watch what I eat.
Janice you are not alone, i have the very same problem. yesterday was really hard! Because of the 4th. well i'm trying to lose more weight i've only lost 6 pounds my doctor told me to lose some weight he didn't say how much.i'm trying to lose at least another 5 or 10 pounds before my surgery? buy the way, my surgery is on the 12th. i've got 6 days to lose i don't know how much i will lose . but as least i can say i tried.
