Surgery date is July 11th
My date is the 11th too. Do you think the days are getting longer or just passing very slowly! I have all I need husband and Mom will be here all that week. I have 2 girls 6 & 10 and their main job is to keep me from worrying about them. I am excited the only thing that woories me is the possible complications. I have never had any kind of surgery before. Good luck!!
Rene-
I think you're right on about the passage of time. But I do think it's a matter of perception. Remember when your girls were so tiny? And you thought they'd never grow up? Now they're 6 & 10 and you can see the passage of time in the growth even though you weren't aware of it at the time. Just hang in there and Monday will be here before we all know it.
You're blessed to have your Mom there. I lost mine last year after a long battle with Multiply Myeloma and Vascular Dementia. Cardiovascular Disease runs rampant in my family and I unfortunately inherited that gene pool. That's why I made the decision to have the surgery. I know that deep down my Mom would approve. I am lucky though, my husband will be there every step of the way and so will my Mother-in-Law. Not the same as my Mom but loved every bit as much.
Good luck, sweetie
Kitty
Hi Kitty,
My surgery date is July 11th also. And last night my husband and I just returned from a wonderful week in Cape May. We stayed at Stockton Manor on Ocean Ave. If you had posted earlier, perhaps we could have gotten together for lunch and moral support!! We had a lovely time there, but I kept thinking how much more fun I'll have the next time when I'm thinner!! It will be so much easier to walk around!
I am not nervous at all--just anxious to get it over with and to get on with my new life!! I have a lot of confidence in my surgeon and it sounds like you do, also. That's the important thing!! We'll do great, I'm sure.
I wish you the best!
Sandy
This goes out to Kitty, Debbie, Rene & Sandy,
Good Luck to you all and my prayers are with each and everyone of you. I had my surgery on May 4th and now i can say i am hopelessly on the healing side of it. I am a diabetic, so i had a few more problems then most but it was one of the best choices i ever made in my life. I am down 72lbs in basically 3 months. I have another 75 to 100 lbs to go. I was very active to begin with, but just think about how good you'll feel one month, two months, 6 months out. My weight was centered in my stomach and after seeing some of my friends recently they couldnt get over how great i looked. My only problem, is lower back pain, something i never really experienced, but if you have alot of weight in the front like i did, now that its gone, you don't have it pulling on your lower back. Make sure you take your vitamins 3 x a day and you can buy b-12 sublingual tablets dirt cheap at Walmart, put one under your tongue, they disolve in no time and its the best way for your body to absorb them. Keep me posted!
A friend here in Delaware!
Dear Kenn-
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement. It helps me alot to hear from someone so newly out of surgery. It give me hope that the answer to all my weight issues are just around the corner. Thanks for the tips on the vitamins as well. Do you have to take calcium or iron as well or are they in your vitamins? I found a chewable iron but it looks icky. I have viactiv for the calcium. What does your Dr. recomend? What protein supplements or drinks are you using? Congratulations on your success.
