Anxiety levels through the roof!!
I have been soooo at peace with the idea of this surgery until I would say a week ago. I first seen my surgeon in October and then because I have no insurance I had to try to find someone to pay for it--like Voc Rehab(what a joke!) Anyway me and my family had to save up the money and sell a couple of vehicles to come up with the money. Anyway, in the mean time I have read everything I can. Last week I read The Patients Guide and it has me terrrified! I keep trying to tell myself that the testimonies were people that had different kinds of surgeries and they didn't do their research or listen to their surgeon. If anyone has not read this book, I would not recommend it. I love WLS for Dummies and Before and After by Susan Leach they have good info and Susans book has lots of recipes. Anyway, I had to call and up my therapy appt. because of anxiety. I had one for the 7th now its tomorrow. Never went to one before but it seemed like a good idea to get rid of food issues and the psch eval said I have social phobia. I already knew I had panic attacks but now I am having like 5 a day. I used to just deal with them on my own but I really can't no more. And depression but who weighs over 300 lbs and isn't depressed? Any suggestions will help. Sorry so long.

Crystal,
I'm reading a LOT right now and finding much peace in inspirational quotes. I thought I'd share a few with you ... and hope you get the same messages I do
* Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined.
Henry David Thoreau
WE ARE FOLLOWING A DREAM FOR HEATHIER LIVING
* The human body has been designed to resist an infinite number of changes and attacks brought about by its environment. The secret of good health lies in successful adjustment to changing stresses on the body.
Harry J. Johnson
IN MY OPINION THE EXCESS WEIGHT WE CARRY IS ATTACKING US ON DAY AT A TIME. WE WILL BE CHANGING STRESSES AND THAT'S A WONDERFUL THING!
* Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures."
John F. Kennedy
PEACE IS A JOURNEY AND WE'RE TRAVELING OURS NOW
I hope these offer you some much needed peace as they do me. Life's just too short to live this way any longer.
Hugs,
Kimberly
Crystal,
I know where you are coming from! I'm waking up every morning about 5am sitting strait up in bed worried that I've forgotten to do something, or that I'm going to be late for an appointment...just whatever. General stresses are just taking thier toll on me. I seem to be in panick mode constantly these days, and because of it am not getting a dern thing done! LOL Hang in there!
HUGS
