Hi, Ladies . My pre op appt. is tomorrow I am so nervous. I'm really starting to freak out here. Tomorrow is my last day of real food till after the surgery. July 11th OMG!!! It sure has snuck up on me quick. I heart alot of other people are saying they are on liquid diets too. I feel for you all. I'm just praying that I can stick with it. So everyone please pray for me and if you have any helpful hints please write back. Thanks alena

I;m in my 3rd day of liquid diet. It's not too bad. For me I feel it is easier to avoid food completely than to have to seriously monitor everything that goes in my mouth for a couple of weeks. Don't be nervous, be excited. this is another step we are taking towards our new future. Cheers Olive (NZ)

I don't know what tests you are getting done... but I put in my profile details about all my pre-op appointments. (Just for this purpose... to try to help others who were nervous cause they might not know what to expect.)

Alena, I will definately keep you in my prayers! I don't have to be on a liquid diet until the day before surgery (mine's July12th) so I can't even imagine how challenging this is for you! Just keep in mind that this is a life changing (in a big way!) experience! Also breatheeeeeeee ... when you want to eat POST POST POST on here ... we're here for you!! Hugz and best of luck, Kimberly

Hi Alena, I am 1 week into my liquid diet, and the first few days were awful, but I soon got used to it. We have the same surgeon, so I bet we are on the same plan. I did check with the dietician, and we can have broth - jus****ch the sodium content. I find the warmth and savory taste of broth is a welcome change to the sweetness of the protein drinks. A great source for protein drinks/WLS supplements is: www.enjoyhealth.com She is 4 years post-op, and has done a lot of research on protein and vitamin supplements. She has a small store in north Seattle, and if you go in, you can sample as many of the powders you want. This is a great feature, as some powders are absolutely terrible! She also sells a protein powder called "Nectar", which is more like juice than milk. It comes in great flavors - even a lemon iced tea (no caffeine). Good luck!
