Two weeks and new fears

Okay, I have two more weeks before surgery, and now I am beginning to worry about being cancelled. I was worried for awhile about the getting sick or dying thing for awhile. I have got that under controlled, then I began worrying that I would get sick before surgery and be cancelled. Or when I get one of my normal aches and pains, (you know, the reasons I am having the surgery), I start worrying that they will get my surgery cancelled. My pre-op is in 9 days and I just obsess that they are going to tell me, "No surgery for You". Debbie

OMG you sound like me....I have been so worried about buying the stuff that I need, b/c I am so worried that as soon as I buy it, someone will say that something has changed and I no longer can have it!!!! My pre-ops are on the day of your surgery, so I have another 2 weeks before that.... I wish you luck though! Hara

Its true-- things can go wrong. I was worried about my labs but they turned out normal. If I develop a cold that could stop things. Or allergies to meds or any of number of things... But with my case, if my surgery is postponed - I won't be able to get it done. Right now I have COBRA from my old job that is paying for this procedure. When I start my new job in August, I have to give up my COBRA and take the new companies insurance. Only problem -the new company's insurance has an exclusion for WLS. So its now or never.... But I am not going to torture myself for the next 16 days wondering what if? It's just not worth the stress. Focus on the positive--- losing weight-- Mel..

I have been scared that they won't get the tube down my throat during surgery and cancel it. But thinking about the tube has had me panicking

Do not stress about anything like that. When it comes time to do what needs to be done you will be asleep and thinking thin thoughts. Take it easy, relax... it will all go fine.. Been there, done that.. and gonna do it again on 7/12 shaz

Yeah, I'm doing the same thing. I've got 8 days to go and I keep thinking of anything that could cancel or postpone surgery. I got some sort of stomach bug Sunday and totally freaked out. I was so sure that it was going to be something major. All gone now, thank goodness;)
