My first support group meeting

I went to my first support group meeting this week. While there I met a lady who was exactly one week out. She had open and let me tell you, I would never have known she had surgery. She was moving all around, drinking her crystal light with protein powder in it. She was doing so wonderfull. She gave me inspiration and hope. I am not saying that I now think this is going to be a walk in the park, I know it will not be but it did ease my mind some. I thought I would share that great experience with all my new friends. How cool is that? I can't wait to go to mine next month. Had she lost any weight yet?

When I talked to her Monday she had already lost 11 pounds!! She was doing so well!! My next meeting is the same day as my surgery. Some of the ladies said they might come up to my room before the support group (which is held at the hospital) and check on me. They were so very nice!! Nancy

Hi Nancy, I met a woman at my meeting to but she has been out of surgery now for 6 months and she's doing well also. She lost a little over 85lbs.. It was a insperation for me also. So I know how you feel Hugs, Cheri

I haven't got to go to a support meeting yet. Hopefully my first one will be after my surgery because the support group is over an hour away. I signed up at preop to have someone from the support group to come up and meet me.
