Prayers for Cardio Clearance for Surgery
Hi Everyone,
I was scheduled for surgery on June 28, 2005, but have had some cardiac problems arise - some unexplained chest pain. I have great cholestral levels, great blood pressure, 2 normal EKG's - so this has been a total shock. I went to a very BAD cardiologist and he had me do the adenosine heart test, and it came back abnormal. He then told me I was "too big" to get a good read, and that I was probably too big to do a catheterization. I switched to a wonderful cardiologist who wants to make sure I am OK for surgery, and is doing a 2 day dye/x-ray test starting Monday, which is more accurate for people that weigh as much as I do. My new Dr. understands that the risk of not having the surgery may outweigh the risks of the heart problems.
I need prayers that I will get cardio clearance for my surgery that I have rescheduled for July 6, and that they will find out what is wrong with my heart. I have been waiting for over a year now, and even am 1 week into my pre-surgery liquid diet! I am an emotional wreck and need the power of prayer and the strength of God with me during this time.

Colleen I will pray for you. I completely understand you about your experience with a "bad" cardiaologist. I had the same expierence. He told me I was to big to find out why I had chest pain and that if I had a heart attack I would die because there was nothing they could do for me becasue of my size. Told me to lose weight and come back for test then. I have never been back that was 2 years ago. I have never had an abnormal EKG but do have chest pain occasionally. ER docs usually send me home with anxiety. Some doctors arent really in it for the patient I think. I am happy you have found one that is. I pray that God will have his hand over your doctor and everything will be good with your heart so you can have WLS.
