waiting for insurance!!

I'm so freaked - I am going thru the appeals process right now waiting to hear. Was denied the first time due to the fact the insu. company never got my records with in 48 hrs from the dr. so the denied me!!! So here we go again they have everything at this time. I'm so scared they will not approve it again. I don't have all of there requirements. But I have 2 drs. saying that if I don't have it done I will have no place to go from here. I have acid reflux so bad that meds won't help anymore and the underlying problem is the weight. So I checked yesterday and the insurance company has everything and they are reviewing it at this time. Hoping to hear by the end of the week. It's my birthday on Friday and I would be so happy if they approved it by then. Has anyone ever had this many problems with insurance? If I get denied again what should I do? I think I'll go off the deep end!! I have already seen the diettian & the phyc person and they both said I would be very successful.

Kris - Do not get discouraged!! Remember, everything happens for a reason. We may not know your reason for a while but yet the reason is still there. You do not really have a profile, what kind of insurance do you? What all have you gone through so far. I can not offer advice but I do know that I did contact a lawyer when I was first denied. I decided that the legal aspect was more expensive than following the rules my insurance put on me. I followed the rules and was approved right away. Good luck, Nancy

I know what your are feeling somewhat. I'm waiting too for my ins. approval. This is the worst part. I'm trying not to bug the crap out of my surgeons office by calling too much but as of last Wed. they were still waiting on the test results from my psy. They told me that they would be mailing it all as soon as they got that, well shoot I took that test 2 weeks ago it shouldn't take him that dog gone long. I just don't really know if it's even been mailed to my ins. company yet. I have a feeling I might hear today, but then again I've thought that every day. good luck, I hope it all works out for us both.

I totally understand also. I fought my battle against insurance for over 9 weeks before approval. And one thing I can tell you to remember is to DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT everything. I put down every phone call and every letter and everything, if those people sniffed on the phone, I put it down. Kris, Don't stress so bad...I understand...I did the same thing and it was all for nothing. I will tell you what my friends who had it told me...IT WILL HAPPEN, there is a time and a place for everything. I have been newly diagnosed with GERD and only have problems with ankles and knees. I didn't think my ins. would approve...but without a problem...they did. The problem wasn't with you the first time...it was with the Dr.'s office. You will be in my thoughts an prayers.
